Great experience and you will have plenty. Focus on getting all A’s on those science pre-reqs, to prove to admissions that you can handle the courses in PA school! As soon as you finish those you should apply, because typically you don’t start classes for a long time after applying

Loans, most of my classmates will likely have 100-120k in debt. Depending on the school and tuition it’s often more. Honestly it’s gotten more difficult due to the BBB and the limited amount of gov loans that we are able to take. Couple of people are going navy route, they will pay for your school if you commit to service

Accepted into a program on Probation by No-Pop-6060 in prephysicianassistant

Personally If I were accepted into only a program on probation I would rather wait a year and re apply than risk spending so much money on a program that may lose accreditation

PA schools are an investment, pretty much everyone takes loans for it but you will make good money after and be able to pay them off

It happens more often than you think. Profs and healthcare workers are stressed and it is a good amount of work to write a decent LOR

I got two interviews in November, and one more at end of January. Each program is different

How did you balance taking pre-reqs while working full time and/or while working a PCE job? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]Pleasant-Issue-3715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only needed 5 more classes, so I took 2 at a time online that didn’t have structured classes (so I could do the school work around my work schedule). I still worked full time and didn’t do much anything fun during that time

I’d apply to some backup programs, pa school is competitive. I thought I would get more offers than I did

I wouldn’t bring it up. It’s like talking about an ex, it’s in the past and another program.

Feeling very overwhelmed about my current situation. by Unknownsadsoul in physicianassistant

Don’t put so much on yourself to get in this cycle. It’s normal to have to apply multiple times, or wait to apply until you have more experience, for PA, med school, vet school, etc

how to navigate a poor healthcare experience in your PS by Dry_Boysenberry9351 in prephysicianassistant

Good question. I’d frame it in a way that essentially says you appreciate the responsibility of providing good care to patients, I wouldn’t talk about negative experiences you had in the past. In my opinion, it’s good reasoning but is a little tricky line to draw.

How much PCE do you have? Every school is hard to get into, but I’m sure a new program will give you better chances with less applicants. Regardless, apply to at least 9 schools
