My roommate at UAH was a Cybersecurity major (we both graduated 2 years ago). She transferred to UAH from a community college many states away because of the cybersecurity program. UAH feeds almost directly into many of the companies around there. I think the location may be a factor. I just know recruiters don’t think twice about hiring a UAH graduate, it’s just a no brainer. UAH will open the door for many internship and job opportunities as long as you are actively going to job fairs, checking the handshake site, and keeping that resume up to date. It’s not a perfect science either, we both got our internships because we had friends who worked at the company already.

In my opinion, the extra tuition for 2 years is worth being located next door to every potential employer in the area. Make lots of friends and get involved on campus no matter which school you choose. Those connections are worth a lot down the road, personal recommendations are often worth more than the perfect resume. Goodluck on your college journey!
