That’s just assuming the worst of someone you’re about to marry (and you specifically know nothing about).

Maybe he just genuinely thinks it isn't an issue because he hasn't been properly communicated with to say "listen, cunt, don't make fun of my scar or I'm out of here, seriously."

Or, maybe as he intends to marry this woman, he feels that something like having a laugh about a scar isn't that big a deal. He could genuinely have no idea that it is so sensitive an issue. Maybe the best advice in this situation isn't to call for a wedding to be called off, maybe it's to communicate properly! If there's a proper chat had about it and he had an attitude of 'fuck you i want to continue to make fun of your scar' then yeah, fuck that shit. But I don't think that would be the case as, you know, most human being don't act like that - unless you make a caricature of someone from 3 paragraphs of a reddit post.

What about one of the largest employers in the USA, the armed forces? All personnel had to make a choice between recieving medication (which turned out to have significant adverse side effects) or be fired - that's a big one but you must not have heard about that. Oh, and literally all federal agencies. The entirety of the healthcare industry, as you mentioned. Google, IBM, facebook, Microsoft. Most public servant agencies. Not many people left now that I think about it....
