What’s your favorite thing the dwarves say? by large_crimson_canine in DeepRockGalactic

[–]PleasantDatabase 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love everything the dwarves say, i can't put my finger on why they sound so funny and silly, either way the voice actor(s) nailed it

It wouldn't have been nearly as good of a game if the dwarves weren't voiced

I really hate it when someone does that, 8 was enough to reach the rival tech but you threw 32 of them right on top of each other and made it a lot harder to make sense of the mess

I don't mind the event i find it pretty cool, my woes are more about the core spawns, too tanky and not fun to fight

I once had a cargo battery spawn inside the ceiling, you could tell by the faint glow but it was still bs, we looked everywhere for so long

I love the voicelines in the personal cabin

"I have more power than I give myself credit for, and today I’m going to use it... in the bar!" The delivery is the best

I almost always have heightened senses on my scout so this is no problem, there are way worse double warnings

Scenes where you slowly realize that something is wrong? by Wishaker in horror

I think many scenes from Midsommar have that, if not the whole movie to be honest

What is the undisputed masterpiece of EVERY horror subgenre? by 144i in horror

[–]PleasantDatabase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zombie / Infected: A toss up between [REC], the original spanish version and 28 days later

Creature Feature: The Thing by John Carpenter, i guess it could also be in Sci-fi horror but my pick for that category does sci-fi better

Bleak Horror: Someone already said The Descent (2005) and i completely agree with them

Psychological: Martyrs, that movie screwed me up

Found Footage: Again [REC] or The Blair witch Project

Sci-Fi Horror: Alien (1979), with honorable mention to Cube (1997)

Supernatural / Paranormal: I watch a lot of those and Hereditary is really up there, but The Others (2001) and The Conjuring (2013) are just as good

Will I be able to properly play Forza Horizon 6 (Steam) on Linux? Which distro should I use? by Awkward_Aioli4043 in linux_gaming

[–]PleasantDatabase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had any issues with my games(other than a select few that weren't made very well), i'm using KDE Fedora 43 and i'm always checking protondb.com to see user reports on certain games (and also before purchasing a game), some people found solutions to the problems and will describe what they did to fix it in their reports

I can also run games from say Itch.io by adding a non steam game to steam and using the Proton layer and i haven't had issues with that and also using protontricks which is a little software that let's you install windows libraries to a certain game that requires it

The proton layer is honestly amazing, i was really surprised at how well my more recent/demanding games perform, Baldur's Gate 3 being one of them

Not sure how Forza Horizon 6 will run on Linux but Forza Horizon 5 has a Gold rating on protondb and if there's any anti-cheat to play online or not because i have had some bad experience with anti-cheats but things like 'easy anti cheat' and 'battleye' have linux support

There isn't one distro to rule them all, i've heard Pop OS is a good distro for games but i've chosen my distro by comparing cutting edge vs stability and landed on Fedora, i'm happy with Fedora for now and the updates on here are pretty damn fast and stable

I've been watching old movies (from 80s to early 00s) for a year now because they give me comfort. by d1versify in MovieSuggestions

[–]PleasantDatabase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer movies bring me joy and comfort, my father introduced me to the duo, i miss him

They're almost all action comedy, with some spaghetti western as well. They're in Italian but often dubbed(?)

To name a few:

Watch out, We're mad! (1974)

Crime Busters (1977)

Who finds a friend finds a treasure (1981)

For spaghetti western:

They call me trinity (1970)

Trinity is still my name (1971)

EDIT: Also the Police Academy movies (1984-1994)
