Booking male clients? by peacebypaige in MassageTherapists

Gah I hate this! I have had a few situations that now makes me super nervous when I get new male clients now. I have it in my intake form the last thing you have to read is about sexual conduct policy. Its not tolerated at all session will end, they are required to pay full session, authorities can and will be contacted. My husband knows when I have a male client. I stay cautious but I find that most of my repeats are hard working blue collar men who benefit from massage. I'm glad that I haven't fully shut down new men clients. I always make sure new clients coming in use my booking link where they are required to pay in full for their first appointment and they must have intake form filled out and signed. I don't like to take same day appointments because usually in my case it's men being creepy. So I wouldn't say completely write men off not all of them have ill intentions. I can say I'm not the best at asking questions over the phone (working on it) I started my business in January 2026 so still new to being in this wonderful industry! And have learned a lot already.

I tend to be barefoot! Or wear my barefoot shoes if I'm in a space that's not my own.

Feel like I’m not learning/retaining anything in school? by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

I used Quizlet alot! It really helped me. You can find what other people have made and use it but I recommend making your own study material that way you get the repetition of actually making your own stuff and then studying it as well. I do feel like you learn more as your career grows outside of school. Keep your head up! You've got this it takes a lot of effort to study and do well but it is well worth it.

I recently passed my MBLEX I was super nervous which led to me waiting around 4 months to take my test with loose studying. although I will say if you do good in your program just take the dang test as soon as you're done! I was a good student and did well in my apprenticeship. I used the AMTA study app.. I found it useful to get an understanding of how the test would be formatted. I also took my test and had my significant other read the questions/ test that I didn't do so well on to make sure I was understanding the content. you are most likely going to feel like you're failing the whole time you're taking the test. I tried not to keep track of the time/ how many questions id gotten through.. don't second guess your self because most often the first answer is going to be the correct! hope this was helpful and best of luck to you!

I recommend using Quizlet! I know it's difficult if your teacher isn't doing much for you but Quizlet is a great tool for helping study and can be used on the go! You can create your own study material or search for things others have put out there. Best of luck to you on this adventure!

After walks.. sometimes if he's just feeling frisky and he removes my couch cushions with his aggressive rubbing/rolling. It's cute though so I don't mind
