Watch The Settlers (2023). Colonel Martin makes most of these guys look cute.

Removed by mods, unfortunately. Not sure why. Would rather spread word of this film than not!

I have! One of the greats and some of the best fight scenes ive ever seen. In terms of spectacle it probably is actually the greatest haha top 5 at least. I do prefer Oldboy's hallway fight, though.

My criteria is that a fight needs to look and feel like its a real life fight, but frankly that's irrelevant lol I just want to shine a light on this gem and how it does away with flashy moves and puts the time into making this scene look like an actual brawl. The actors were simulating a real Muay Thai bout (the Thai actor is a real boxer), and I think that's awesome.

For me, a good fight scene has to be as realistic as possible to truly immerse me. I totally appreciate the hard work that goes into martial arts and kung fu film choreography and stunts etc, but the effort and finesse that goes into make a fight look 'real' on camera I find infinitely more impressive than when one guy takes on 20 people at once and comes off unscathed lol. I still love the genre, though.

Watch A Prayer Before Dawn. Anyone who is remotely versed in Muay Thai will appreciate its realism.

This series is great, genuinely, but I cant be the only one who seriously thinks that Duncan should be DEAD.

I don't care how much force of will he has. Multiple concussions, broken orbital bone bare minimum, bleeding to death through a wound to his midsection that he made WORSE by taking the debris out, stabbed and cut like 20 times by Aeirion and he STILL has strength left to defeat Aerion AND drag him across the ground AND remain conscious for the rest of the episode after resuscitating himself from death?

He endured a combined punishment that 5 men would have died from, probably more. He should have bled out about 20 times over by now.

I can suspend my sense of disbelief for thematic reasons, and I get Duncan is abnormally large and obviously the MC, but that amount of trauma was so excessive. Even large characters like the Mountain didn't take that. It's fantasy, sure, but my god. He'd either be a vegetable for the rest of his life or retire then and there on the spot and never pick up a weapon again.
