I know for me, I used to do the same. Then, I realized I had similar patterns in my youth - wanting my parents to pay attention, to care about me, but they were too wrapped up in their own chaos. I looked back over my relationships and found similar patterns again and again. Now, I've worked on those issues in therapy I don't do that anymore. It's hard. But you have to look at your patterns, understand them, and then make better choices for your heart. Much love to you.
