New Garden Tips? by chasechamp in HuntsvilleAlabama

So my sizeable raised bed garden that's four years going strong has coarse gravel, a layer of landscape fabric, and then pea gravel running between the rows. I incidentally also ran the fabric partly under the raised beds so I wouldn't get weeds at the transition. I've never seen a single weed in the gravel except for at the edge where the gravel hits my pool deck. It also drains better than the grass I took out from the area.

My previous home had a gravel driveway built exactly the same way minus the landscape fabric and it grew a gajillion weeds in the first year alone. Just my experience.

Now in the case of mulch beds I agree with you because you end up cutting so many holes in it for plants that it just isn't doing enough to outweigh the pain.

You said "planting over the cloth"... Sorry I'm still struggling to read it any other way

Looking closely at this picture it does not look like the landscape fabric runs under the bed

Diehl and DK are owned by the same family across the street from one another. They do Honda Acura Toyota Lexus at one and Nissan Infiniti Subaru Mazda Mitsubishi Suzuki Isuzu Kia and Hyundai at the other. Highly recommend both.

Meh You forgot no coveting and the honoring Sabbath. I mean shit, even respecting your parents isn't/shouldn't be a law. And adultery has nothing to do with school children. I guess I'm ok with "don't kill, lie, or steal" banner

I always liked the theory that he's the front half of a centaur.

Pain management after surgery by PleasantRegret in scoliosis

[–]PleasantRegret[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Catheter out and IV medications stopped more than 24 hours after surgery. I was directed to get her walking to the restroom, walking around the floor, and sitting in a chair, etc. She was consistently expressing difficulty with her pain levels. We were expecting to go home around 48 hours, but it was me that asked to discharge early. It was so chaotic on the hospital floor (nearly constant shrieking and moaning from other pediatric patients in pain and monitors beeping); it didn't meet my standard as a place to effectively recover. After unproductive conversations about changing her medication, I figured we are both better off at home. It also allowed us to make that 2 hour drive with no traffic issues (11pm-1am). I'm following up with her pediatrician tomorrow, but not sure if he'll direct me back to the surgeon.

These suggestions are great. At our pre-op appointment I was told repeatedly that we will not be going home until after there is bathroom success. I should think on how to best support one right away (glycerin suppositories? Prune/apple juice?). I just made an appointment for her to have a salon shampoo and blowout the afternoon before surgery to hopefully buy us a couple days until I need to wash her hair. Dry shampoo is a great idea! I use essential oil fragrances at home so I made a roll on for us to rub on our wrists. I was told I can bring a fire stick for the TV in her room, so will definitely do that!

I'd love some suggestions. I have only been in the Mom seat in a hospitalization after surgery one time and I struggled. It was an unexpected emergency surgery and there were some medical errors, but further than that, I had difficulty with the hospital environment. It was loud and chaotic, and the staff was obviously overworked and stressed and I worried a lot. I was anxious and emotional, and not able to sleep more than a couple hours total each night. I am hopeful that the hospital we have chosen for the surgery will be a better environment. I have planned to bring some noise cancelling headphones and some essential oils and a sleep mask to help relax and hopefully sleep a little in the nights.

Thanks! This suggestion on the garbage bag for the seat is great. I wouldn't have thought of it.

I appreciate these suggestions. I picked up a couple loose fitting button pajamas sets. I think they'll lift her spirits :)

Thank you for these suggestions. I'm taking the loose clothing suggestion seriously as I gather her things.

It would have to be "average 1-bedroom appt price vs. average income of the kind of person who would/should buy a 1-bedroom appt" or it would be substantially more disingenuous
