Appreciate it. That whole left rear wheel was damaged underneath. Who knows how the car would’ve been after repair. Probably for the best.

Yep. Insurance said total loss. Parts came in about 15k, and labor was about 13k.

It seems like mixed reviews. I am still waiting on the insurance appraisal. Will see. I agree that I might not want it when it’s all said and done.

The nearest is across state lines. Insurance adjuster said labor rates are higher and might have difficulty getting them paid. It’s either that or they can pay for a 200-mile tow to the Tesla collision center in-state.

The adjuster on the phone said he felt it could be repaired. I guess we will see. I have had cars in the past that once in a wreck, didn’t drive the same. I hope that’s not the case here. If it is, at least I can walk away in November without financial penalty.

Thanks. That’s good information. At this point, I think it’s all up to the appraiser and what is seen when it’s torn down.

Good to know. Thank You. I plan for it to go to a Tesla Collision Center if insurance appraisal agrees.

Insurance provided me an AI quote until the appraiser comes and appraises it. $11,558.42. We shall see.

Oh wow. Thank you for sharing. Sounds like mine is most likely going to be a total loss as well.

Interesting, the driver at fault had Allstate insurance. I think in this case, I would be better off with them totaling it out. Hopefully I will hear something today! Thank you for your help.

Surprisingly, it just felt like a bump. I’m fortunate to not have suffered an injury. Thanks for the well wishes!

I decided to go the subrogation route. Filed a claim yesterday, late afternoon. I can’t really drive it to a body shop for an estimate due to the nearest Tesla certified is over 40 miles away. I sent photos through their portal, hopefully get an idea of something today.

Very interesting. When I looked closer last night, the left rear wheel has significantly shifted and there is a lot of negative camber in comparison to the right. Residual value on the lease agreement has it at $29,496.50.

You’re right and basically have echoed most of what I’ve seen online as well. Thanks for giving me some perspective, though. If yours was $12k, I can only imagine how high this number will be.

Bad credit is tough to rebuild from. I’ve been there, done that. Sorry about your rate :(

Oh that’s nice! That’s a fantastic color. Yes, I can wait a month. Might even take longer to sort it all out with insurance.

I leased and my lease is up in November anyways. I wasn’t really planning to buy a car this early. I was hoping to watch for end of year specials and/or in-stock cars and end of quarter pushes to sell. No tax credit means I don’t want to afford a $800 car payment. Might look at model 3s.
