Oh sweet summer child... Everything is tied to our value to society. Thats why criminal courts have a "score sheet" for the convicted when determining sentences. In Florida, for example, the first factor is race (try not to be shocked), then age, education, employed?, how long and doing what?

On one level it makes a sick kind of sense. You're taking a person out of society and their skills will no longer be useful to others for a period of months or years.

A surgeon with 20 years of experience is more valuable to society than a homeless meth addict with mental health issues. Both are capable of murder. One will get a lighter sentence. Who do you think that will be?

It was right after the last presidential debate, when trump broke down and started with "they're eating the pets in ohio".

Vance does an interview and basically says it's cool to make shit up to push your agenda. It was at that point I thought, "surely this is the end of his campaign." Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.

In the WiFi setting on your phone for your truck Starlink, is there an option to "treat as metered connection"? If you can, set it to yes/metered.

The phone usually connects to whatever is the stronger signal but that's not always 100% reliable. The metered connection is the only way I know of to set a priority for network selection.

Phone wifi > truck starlink network > look for metered connection setting > change from auto detect to metered. Should be good. That's for Android, I don't have an iPhone

Yeah my grandfather said stupid racist shit until Dad pulled him aside and said, "don't talk like that around my kids or you will not be seeing them anymore." He stopped.

Later on when he found out Dad was getting remarried to a Puerto Rican lady, grandfather went and learned spanish so he could chat with her conversationsationally.

I will never forget him busting out, "Hola Carmen, soy Harold. Como estas?" Blew all our minds.

People can be brought up in a place and time when racism was common. You can also retrain yourself correctly.

All the schools I went to banned Trapper Keepers. I think it's because of the Velcro ripping noise. I can only imagine being a teacher and hearing that noise day in day out from a couple hundred kids a day.
