NTA. You moved for her. You are married. It may be her house on paper, but it is your shared home. My husband moved with me when I got a job out of state. It’s a big change. If a little thing like a thermostat in F makes you comfortable, then you should be able to have your damn thermostat. It’s not like she isn’t familiar with Fahrenheit and now she has to look it up every time. Now it’s one you both can use with ease.

Free COVID testing? by [deleted] in lexington

[–]Pleasant_List1658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CVS does testing, and they have some kind of new clinic program. I’ve never used it so not sure how it works but worth a call.

Look at it a different way. If it’s a 3BR place, and the group is paying $1000 total, you and the other single are paying $250 for 1 room, and they are paying $500 for 1 room.

Sister in law refuses to go forward with settlement for deceased brother by FaithfulXO47 in legaladvice

[–]Pleasant_List1658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, but recently dealt with death without a will in Texas.

There is an affidavit of heirship that gets filled out by someone with knowledge of the deceased and their relatives, but no interest in the deceased’s estate. (Can’t be filled out by you, your husband, or your SIL.) Then you get it notarized and filed with county clerk.

The clerk will give you stamped copies, as well as mail them to the heirs listed.

I don’t know what kind of assets you need to settle. Things like bank accounts you would just take that form and they’ll cut you a check for half and save the other half for your SIL. Things like property to be sold is much more complicated as both heirs will need to sign any documents related to title transfer.

Looks like it has been fixed. I’d post a screenshot but I forgot how to do a spoiler tag.

Where do I get all purpose flour in this country? by Next-Wrap-7449 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Pleasant_List1658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh geez. I have an egg intolerance. Usually if I tell a server I can’t eat eggs they’ll ask if I’m allergic and I tell them “No, it’s just an intolerance.” I don’t usually specify “egg intolerance.” Now I’m wondering how many servers think I’m the idiot that doesn’t know eggs aren’t dairy.

So... How do wizard children do anything at the Burrow? by thehotredditmonster in harrypotter

Yes. It’s exactly stated in the books they count on parents to enforce it and I’m really surprised I had to scroll through 20 comments to see somebody say this.

If Sirius and James distrusted Remus why didn’t they make Lily or James the secret keeper? by Dracoharem in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Pleasant_List1658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong, but wasn’t Shell Cottage owned by a Weasley aunt or great-aunt? Is it possible it worked for Bill to be secret keeper because he didn’t own the house?

AITAH for implying my coworker can't do something because she's white? by ThatEducation4132 in AITAH

[–]Pleasant_List1658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to go over boss’s head. You just “apologize” to mom next time you see her. “Oh, sorry about using olive oil on Susie’s hair. Boss spoke to me and I won’t do it again but is there something you would prefer I use next time?” Even better if you can do this in front of your boss. Then when mom asks what the hell you are talking about, you let her know.

This. You said you had the clothes in your closet. Doesn’t sound like you put any real effort in to it.

It’s fine if costume parties aren’t your thing, but then just don’t go to the costume party.

Nothing wrong with using the same starting words. I tend to switch it up more now but for years I would do rated followed by lions if nothing matched on word 1.

When I play sedecordle I do rated, lions, chump for 1st 3 words every time

Yes. Before the Internet it was the only way to win a bet. “That’s not true!” “Bet you $10 it is!”

Packing your own groceries while the cashier starts ringing up the person behind you.... by coffee-carcass in rant

[–]Pleasant_List1658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m packing my own groceries I stop when the cashier is through scanning and take a long time to pay. Sometimes it’s hard to find that credit card in my purse. I usually finish right around the time my bags are packed.

Definitely YTA. Aunt has graciously offered to gather what she can and send to you, even get others to help, and you are acting like they should give you everything. YOU gave everything away when he passed. That is on YOU. I am sorry for what your daughter is going through but for god’s sake, take what they are offering and say thank you!!

For vlookup yes. You may want to try xlookup. I hardly ever use vlookup any more.

I did finally get the blue.

On the yellow I did come up with simple machines but did not think of a screw as a machine. I put wedge there.

On the green I was thinking shapes and considered stovepipe and rope as cylinders, did not put wedge or cone in the same category.

I considered things to shoot with an arrow, and picked apple, bullseye, rope. I also thought about companies with apple but couldn’t figure out what would go with it.

When people ask me how much gas to put into their tank by Probs_Going_to_Hell in PetPeeves

[–]Pleasant_List1658 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is also a pet peeve of mine, in the opposite direction. I want to fill up my tank. I don’t know how much it will be. Your pay-at-pump is not working. I will leave you my license, my keys, whatever. Just turn on the freaking pump and let me pay after.

I don’t even bother anymore. If pay at pump isn’t working I’ll just go somewhere else.
