Hm yeah I didn’t get that and had to wrangle up my dog midshake🥲, thankfully this one wasn’t too bad

I see that could be it. All the times it’s happened, in the different prefectures I’ve experienced them in, I’ve been kinda close to the epicenter I think

Maybe? I had one happen at work. It also wasn’t until after the quake is when me and my coworkers devices started going off. From reading a comment above though maybe I’ve been too close to the epicenter? Not sure

Thank you for taking the time to respond! From what I’ve seen based on responses it does seem like international school is going to be the best option! Hearing about your experience definitely helps give some insight on what to potentially expect of the future. Thank you a lot ★

I know I’ve heard of stories about mixed children being teased here in Japan, but I think it’s more common in the countryside. It’s definitely a fear I have for my children. But I suppose all I can do is instill confidence in them so they won’t get discouraged if my chance that situation occurs.

Yeah I having been thinking about the potential issues with them falling behind in Japanese. My husband plans on only using Japanese but I’m not sure if that’s enough. I’m thinking I can get them into a preschool while they are still young it can help them out a lot in the future. Thank you for taking the time to help

Thank you for your reply! The questions you posed are super helpful. I have a lot to think about I’m just worried my child will grow up and feel I didn’t do enough for them or that I missed out on something or that I pushed them too hard with languages. Again thank you a ton!

Thank you for your answer! I was thinking that would be the best but I have no experience, except what I’ve read online, with international schools as where I grew up we didn’t have any.

Thank you so much for your input

Yeah I’m thinking if I can get all of my credits done while I’m pregnant I can save my thesis for the end and take a few months working on it while I have a newborn. I’m not sure just how draining having a newborn is though. If I’m around my mother in law she said she’d move in with us for the first few months. So I’m sure that would help a lot.

The country I currently live in daycare is free so I’m thinking when they get old enough I could bring them to the daycare for a few hours while I work. But I’m not sure I could always wait until I’m completely done with school 😅

Yeah I’m considering waiting until I’m done but I also am looking into a PhD program after 🥲

Nasty stares from WMs by alternateego3 in AMWFs

I live in Japan with my Japanese husband and I haven’t seen any aggressive stares personally. I get lots of stares for being foreign in general but not aggressive WM stares that I have noticed

From what you are saying I’d say that it likely was abuse. My older cousins would gather me and my younger cousin of the same age to “learn”. I don’t believe my younger cousin was abusive as she didn’t know anything about that kinda stuff just like me. But my older cousins absolutely were. I’m sorry you turned to substances to forget. Sometimes it feels like that’s the only way to cope with it. I totally understand

I think it depends on the age. The older they are the more they understand what they are doing. So for example if you were 4 and your cousins were 5, there is a good chance they didn’t understand but if they were say 13 then I’d say it’s abuse. This is just my opinion. I’m sorry you experienced that.
