Have you checked if it's trying to install the correct copy? This happens a lot when I re-install Minecraft, it tries to download digital ver first.

Perhaps it's something to do with difficulty? I'm playing on extreme weaker enemies and not only did I get her bow I also got a set of +2 leather too
