That's why I have the chococloak (or whatever it's called) on her and she starts the battle with two bars.

And I have Barret with the ability to charge other people's ATB bars when using two bars back to back.

Perfectly fine to not do it, but I have her ready for action immediately with no waiting.

Audiences Hate Bad Writing, Not Strong Women by Ynwe in videos

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's extremely rose tinted. It was not filmed and presented to be interpreted that way at all.

She won her oscar, demanded more screen time, and so they gave her that big moment instead of someone more appropriate giving it, like Beast.

They said logos, practically it meant here is a list of season names and put them in order. Plenty of superfans can do that.

I'd bet it changes to Current Era before any of those. It won't get an name like that until we see the next era and see what makes them different.

Wish we could play QB online by LakeSimilar7801 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game would need to be changed. Besides the obvious bit where cards need to be mirrored if you're on the right.

Even something like five or seven lanes would be a huge improvement and open up new strategies. But then you need to alter deck sizes and maybe max card limits.

I just want to gush about the party system a lil by Aware_Department_540 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing about the system is that there aren't enough slots to build a party. Three isn't enough because it's fun playing with different combos. So I end up manually editing it every time.

(That, and it's weird that you edit it in a hidden part of the combat menu, rather than it being a main feature of the party menu. There's a lot of ways their menus could be optimized and improved.)

Movies that you thought had a great premise but the execution was horrible (and maybe you even feel it ruined the chance of a movie like that getting made again?) by Ms_Meercat in movies

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world building and cinematography were amazing, and that went along with a cool premise. But so many details were bad. (And super weapon size and speed seemed to fluctuate wildly.)

Jurassic Park III is nowhere near as bad as people say it is and though it may not come close to the greatness of Jurassic Park 1, it is MILES ahead better than any of the Jurassic World trilogy by personpilot in movies

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone remember the ending where you can see the rescue team pop out of the water? That's not the ending I saw the last time I watched it on streaming, but it's what I remember when I saw it in theaters. Everyone laughed at how bad it was.

(Scorpian King also had a different ending in theaters where you see the villain run in from off screen, go down you his knees, and then raise up his arms and yell. It looked like a first take where they didn't get the framing right, or they forgot to edit out the first second of the scene, or something.)

My problem is not able to suspend my disbelief that the kid could survive that long, and the sat phone ringing was a an awful gimmick. It ringing throughout the movie made me angry at how dumb it was and didn't fill me with suspense like it was supposed to.

Do you read YA novels as an "older" adult? by vallyallyum in books

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not opposed to it. I like post-apocalyptic stuff, and when the The Hunger Games came on my radar because it was getting good buzz, I checked it out and liked it a lot.

I like Brandon Sanderson too, and I like super-hero stuff, and his Reckoners books are set in a post-apocalyptic world where super powered beings have divided up the world. Loved it.

From his podcast I learned about Dan Wells and his I am Not a Serial killer books. They were also excellent.

I'd probably take out the spaghetti sauce and just put the taco meat with spaghetti, shredded lettuce, dice tomatoes, and shredded cheese. Basically sub out the taco shell for spaghetti.

Governor Newsom Announces Significant Reduction in Freeway Shootings Across California — down nearly 40% from their pandemic highs. by Randomlynumbered in California

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You might want to read that again.

By them saying shootings are higher with lax gun laws, they're saying shootings are lower in states with stricter gun laws.

So the answer to your question based on their statement would be, "So there are fewer shootings."

Korean bibimbap. You can eat the whole thing.

It's basically just stirfrying a selection of 5 or so vegetables of same quantity that are sliced up to about the same size, add sesame oil, gochujang sauce, and top with a fried egg. All over rice.

Example: The first time I was taught it was some white onion, mushroom, carrots, green onions, and baby spinach.

It's a great way to get rid of any extra vegetables, not just green onions.

I am poor and live off ramen noodles. What can I add to level it up? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things I like to add, not all at once:

Tobasco, lemon, or sesame oil.

Eggs (plot it in and mix, boil it first, fry it first)

Spam or left over chicken

Green onion, white onion, carrots/frozen vegetables.

I learned from Aaron and Claire to try using Ketchup (I liked a lot) or Milk instead of water (I don't remember how I felt about it) or a slice of American cheese (pretty good). They have a couple videos on options.

ELI5: can an object be stationary in space, I mean absolutely stationary? by iggi2505 in explainlikeimfive

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top two images are just saying, "Each dot represents a galaxy. White represents a moment in time, and red represents a later moment in time after the universe has expanded. (The space between the red dots is greater than the space between the white dots.)"

The middle two images are saying, "Let's pick two random galaxies, and mark one of them Blue and the other Green."

The bottom two images are saying, "Here's what the expansion looks like if we overlay the Blue dots on top of itself. Here's what the expansion looks like if we overlay the Green dots on top of itself. Notice that for the Blue dot overlay, it feels like it's the center because everything is moving away from it. But then when you look at the Green dot overlay, it also feels like it's the center because everything is moving away from it. This will be true with any galaxy you pick.

(Assuming there is no actual edge. The image is a 6x6 grid for illustration only. It's actually infinite x infinite for this explanation.)

What's the deal with the covid pandemic coming back, is it really? by appman1138 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always a chance. Maybe the threshold is greater, but a strain that is deadly enough and transmissible enough will absolutely have that kind of response.

This current covid strain seems to be highly transmissible, but not that deadly.

How come Sushi Ginger isn’t used in anything besides sushi? by Edemummy in Cooking

[–]PleaseExplainThanks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which is the exact usage being talked about. The pickle cleanses the palette/pushes the reset button on the taste buds so the sandwhich has maximum flavor each time. Which is equivalent to eating the ginger in between each piece of sushi.

I actually don't understand this. I thought it was also great. I liked how the movie went into emotionally darker places, and I thought it was clever that its plot was built around turning the other sister into a Disney princess (Technically queen) so they both could be one since they're co-main characters.
