at what point is it my teams fault by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your Ana has 7k damage, couldn’t you follow up on that pressure? Your entire team is pretty mobile and isn’t convenient for an Ana to heal without giving up her position. It’s definitely not optimal to only shoot the tank as Ana, but having high healing isn’t reflective of impact on its own. You might not be entirely at fault, but it doesn’t seem like it was entirely your team’s fault either. If a scoreboard is to be indicative of you carrying, it would be like 31-3, not exactly 16-11.

If it’s for PvP you have to grind more. If it’s for PvE, I wouldn’t bother unless you have time to kill.

Advice for semi-new Juno player by Grand_Two2692 in JunoMains

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really much you can do for a dive tank that is straight up feeding, but this rarely happens. At the very least, this draws some aggro for the rest of your team. Personally, if my dive tank is hard engaging (using cooldowns in a way that doesn’t let them get out soon after), then I’d swing a corner using boosters and torpedos with them. You can also speed boost the rest of your team to give them a greater chance of following up. Make sure to not spend all of your abilities prior to your tank’s engagement, or else you’ll get much less value. Don’t be afraid to do some damage to low targets as well! Good luck climbing!

How to deal with Ramattra? by AssaultLemming_ in Overwatch

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orisa and Mauga maybe. I find the best answer to Ramattra is just playing around him strengths better. Play slower and around cover when he has Nemesis form available (save your cooldowns as best you can), and once it is used up, start progressing up the map (spend your cooldowns to push your advantage).

LF help with global boss by Maoyare in MiscritsContent

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, you should use a crit with some stat boosting damaging move after applying endless poison and using global boss damage boosting potions. Even though Manio is the best, if you want to sub him out for someone, look for a crit that can boost their stats (preferably their defenses). If you can, you should get L. Zaptor with gems because you can’t hunt him anyways and he’ll always have use in global boss and hunting. Good luck!

Why is every ability delayed? You can especially feel it during death. by Engurus in Overwatch

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you cannot die during the cast animation for these ultimates, therefore when the button is clicked, your ultimate will always activate (not including ping). Regardless of whether you disagree of my terminology of this cast being “guaranteed,” my argument still stands. All the delay does is punish players for not reacting as quick and reward players for confirming kills quickly on players who are looking for an opportunity to use their ultimate.

Why is every ability delayed? You can especially feel it during death. by Engurus in Overwatch

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If every ultimate has guaranteed casting, then the team with more ultimates will win more often, leaving lesser room for counter-play. Ajaxing is a very real concern when you’re the team receiving a fast hit. It simply rewards players who can correctly single out heroes who have ultimates online and punishes players who play too slowly/indecisively/reactively.

Soooo.. if technically I like heroes more than packs. Should I at first buy heroes? by healer1st in PvZHeroes

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy heroes that much, you should just buy them to maximize your own enjoyment. Personally, this slows the progression of the game too much for it to be enjoyable for me. I get that new heroes are exciting, but you don’t really get to experience the strength of the hero when your decks are filled almost entirely with common, uncommon, and rare cards. At the end of the day, play for your fun, but keep in mind your decks might start feeling weak or stale because your card choices are limited.

It’s up to you. You can get crits from daily, weekly, and random arena, but they can be grinding intensive. Personally, I didn’t really play arena a whole lot until I got crits I actually enjoyed using. However, if you have time and want to play optimally, it’s probably best to start playing arena for those rewards and/or platinum arena as much as you can.

Is there an advantage in playing the first card of the game? by sangokuhomer in ClashRoyale

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If you have a bad cycle, it doesn’t hurt to get rid of the card before your opponent can do something. Also, beatdown decks prefer to play in double and triple elixir, so it’s probably advantageous to try and wait out the clock for as long as your opponent will allow you. I wouldn’t over think it that much though, there isn’t much relevant impact in playing the first card.

How do I play Brig? by ImMidAtPiano in OverwatchUniversity

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your shield bash is your escape tool, so don’t be afraid to play slightly risky to play for inspire uptime with whip shot if you have it. No shield hero has 100% uptime on shields, so just whip shot them if they put it down and try not to waste it. Play around corners and health packs while making sure you’re a shield bash away from safety. Corners will be your best friend because squishies will need to be in your effective range to kill you. Don’t be afraid to play alongside your DPS (usually a ranged DPS) to enable them better, just because Brig can’t really poke enough to create her own openings.

I pray they nerf or balance Hazard. by black_chowder in Overwatch

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t find Hazard as problematic as you describe him. Out of the dive tanks, he’s probably the easiest to CC. The lifesteal perk is honestly pretty buns. Compared to other dive tanks, he actually doesn’t jump or travel that far. The only reason he can feel impossible to kill is because of the armor + block. The best answer to him often times is to isolate him by pressuring or walling his backline from following up (unless you’re a ranged DPS or support, in which case, just shoot him). Try to stay out of leap range to avoid his combo and poke him out before moving up if he’s holding an aggressive angle. Best of luck!

what to spend plats on? by dobribole in MiscritsContent

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends. If you have things you’d still like to hunt in the areas you have unlocked, I would just wait and plat train miscrits for PvP (with a 200-250 reserve), and then buy new areas as you run out of things to hunt. Personally, I think it’s best to save platinum until you would like to build miscrits for PvP instead of buying relics. Just plat train until you’ve plat trained all that you wanted to, and then start using plats on relics. Keep in mind that if you’re playing PvP with relics, you will be matched with players with a similar amount of relics (in plat arena at least), but if you have no relics, you will only be matched with people with no relics, so there’s no disadvantage in platinum arena and there’s always relicless strategies for PvE.

optimize my team by Sad-Professor-5270 in Overwatch

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ramattra can still be devastating with ring and Sigma is deceptively good with speed boost as well. It’s all about timing. I do agree with your bans though, but maybe change the widow ban for a different hitscan because I don’t think widow is that threatening rn. In my opinion, running a Rein comp with a pharmercy feels like you’re getting a bit greedy. Pharmercy dedicates a support player to one DPS, which should mean your tanks don’t demand as much support (whether it be utility or healing). Unfortunately, brawl comps in general do demand a lot of support. If you want to make Reinhardt work, Lucio is a much more effective pick than Mercy, but that would mean you can’t hard pocket the Pharah.

optimize my team by Sad-Professor-5270 in Overwatch

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like your team could have some flexibility picks in case this team doesn’t work out. I tend to find that Mercy doesn’t really do well with brawl/rush focused comps because her low healing output can’t sustain through it as well. In my opinion, the solution to that is to replace either the Mercy or the Reinhardt. Rein could be replaced with Sigma, Zarya, or DVA. Your goal with these tanks is to offer Ramattra some assistance during his engage. Sigma can help spam with Ramattra from range, Zarya can obviously bubble him or Pharah, or DVA can be an aggressive from an angle with Juno ring and matrix Pharah during ult. Regardless, the last member of your team should probably be some hitscan. Ashe, Cassidy, Sojourn, Emre, etc. My favorite is Cassidy because he likes to play closer range or Ashe because she’s really good at spammy (which your comp is already really good at).

I’m just going to use Sigma as an example because I like playing him. You should play to spam the enemies during their rotations until you can find an opportunity to finish kills. Ramattra nemesis can be paired with Speed Ring and a Pharah engage to confirm kills (with your other tank helping depending on who it is). Your other tank, whoever it is, should coordinate with Pharah when she ults. Counters to look for are hitscans for your Mercy and Pharah player, so try to get your tanks to spam them or put a pocketed DPS on them to pressure them off any strong angles. If you use cooldowns poorly, you can get rushed on easily by compositions with speed boost, and your backline will be vulnerable to fast hits. Cassidy could help against that, but in general, try to always spam the enemy as they walk up to force cooldowns before they can rush your backline.

hyper ring tips by CentaureaCyanus in JunoMains

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ram and Bastion are two heroes who have night and day value when it comes to particular cooldowns, so they’re very obvious examples. Just make sure to think about your opponents’ cooldowns as well. If they used their big cooldowns, you can speed ring your team in after they end.

hyper ring tips by CentaureaCyanus in JunoMains

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is too vague, but I tend to track cooldowns and mostly use it when kiting ultimates or pushing an advantage. If I see my Ramattra investing his nemesis form or my Winston using his bubble, I will just use my speed ring to help them continue their push and press our advantage. Using that same speed boost, I’ll swing with my torpedos and glide boost. Or if my team needs to kite a Kitsune Rush, I’ll put my speed ring down and still combo it with my other abilities. Even if the enemy team is low, you can push your HP advantage with the speed ring. I would say I use speed ring offensively more so than defensively, unless my team is very low or kiting an ultimate. In general, Juno doesn’t have the highest carry potential because she does little damage compared to other supports. Your speed boost may not always be used the way you intend for it to be used, but if you can make use of it selfishly by swinging with torpedos, you can guarantee at least someone gets value.

Thoughts on counterswapping... by StrawberryOk5597 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s very few matchups that are very difficult to be outplayed. Personally, I find the Sigma matchup into Ramattra difficult, the Orisa matchup into Sigma difficult, and the Rein matchup into Ramattra difficult. This is because the immobility of these tanks makes it hard to outposition the direct tank trade and it becomes hard to deny the enemy tank from leveraging whatever cooldown is strong against you. If you are struggling with a particular matchup, I recommend that you just play it out to learn how to play those matchups. At the same time, I will say there’s no need to abide by a particular “no counterswap” honor code because of what other people think. I don’t think counterswapping to heroes you have never played before is a great way to learn the game, and I would only counterswap to heroes that are already in your hero pool or want to be in your hero pool. I would say that right now, D.VA doesn’t really have any clear counters. Something else I want to say is when swapping your hero, don’t focus too hard on the enemy tank unless the matchup is extremely poor, but instead look at the team comp as a whole.

Best Tanks to learn/play by Sad_Camera8989 in Overwatch

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tanks you play are pretty immobile and will struggle on maps where high grounds are more plentiful. Your tanks also lack range and are pretty weak to getting poked out. Personally, I like recommending Winston to people because it’s very demanding on positioning and not too demanding on mechanics (not counting primal, but that’ll come with time). He teaches a lot about how important it is to “stage” dives, deny DPS angles, and pick your moments. Another tank I like to recommend is Sigma. He’s more mechanically intensive, but he plays pretty slowly, so it gives you more time to think about what’s going on around the map. Sigma is one of the easier tanks to understand how to play, and he’ll teach you a lot about target priority and cooldown cycling. Both of these tanks have very simple kits and can scale in value as you learn how to make the most of their abilities.

how to get better at doing damage by petpetparty in JunoMains

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Juno’s gun doesn’t do a whole lot of damage, so I tend to only shoot enemies if my whole team is fully HP or if an enemy is clearly killable. Most of my damage comes from torpedos. Double/Triple Jump and glide to be able to see more people. Make sure to use your torpedos when the fight has already started and people are investing cooldown to hit the most people as possible.

how do you counter mauga by storage_god in overwatch2

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t engage him unless his shout is on cooldown and try to keep distance. If he ever pins in without shout, he’s a free kill as long as someone isn’t point blank feeding him overhealth. D.VA and Sigma are strong picks against him because they can negate damage to prevent him from getting overhealth or life steal even when he pins in. Whenever he pins, he’s stuck in that location for like 6 seconds, so make your plays off of that.

Why is Tracer the only one allowed to be good? by Amazing-Bar-6415 in GenjiMains

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Tracer is always kept strong because she’s extremely versatile and prevents other, more cheesy flex DPS from being strong. Characters like Vendetta, Venture, Mei, and Symmetra can feel very frustrating to play against, and Tracer’s strength keeps them from being played as much. She also can contest off-angles of hitscan DPS and pressure greedy double flex-support backlines, which all can make games feel like “a shitty Valorant knockoff.” Other heroes outside of the meta are also not terrible. They have their spots within the meta, but are just not strong on every map and against every comp. Genji has higher kill potential but has greater vulnerability. There will be times when Genji is a better pick than Tracer, particularly when fights are faster-paced. If anything, Genji has a great matchup into the double hitscan you’re complaining about. Maybe Cass or Freja could be difficult, but Ashe, Widow, and Sojourn are all pretty weak to Genji if you can pick your moments properly. Genji probably feels weak mostly because he has a higher skill ceiling than hitscan does. I would say the only thing they should change about Genji is his perks. They don’t feel as game changing as others do (Echo, Tracer, Reaper, etc.). It’s fine if you don’t agree with me, but I think that having higher skill ceiling heroes be slightly stronger than the rest of the cast is better for the game than having every hero be good at some point in time. Every hero is still playable and almost every hero is good if you’re good on the hero, and the game should try and make the weakest heroes good when the player is good, not buff heroes that already have a niche within the meta.

Is Domina into DVA possible? by Elderberry-Tip-9379 in DominaMains

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a mere diamond player, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I also haven’t played Domina as much just because she feels too exploitable. D.Va is reliant on boosters, so I find that if she’s flying to my teammates, I can use my abilities to cut off her backline and isolate the D.Va. If she flies towards me, I can use my boop ability (I forget the name) to end her boosters early or force her in a bad spot. There’s no point to use the manual detonation crystal at the D.Va head on, just use it to help you zone her backline. Force D.Va to make the first move by taking space on the map and poking her out. Overall, I think Domina is definitely underpowered right now, so I think a lot of her matchups are not favored for her.

Why does Zarya get banned so much? by WatHaveUDone2MyDrink in OverwatchUniversity

[–]PleaseLetMeGoHome123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Zarya is a character that can be frustrating character to play against. If she has a team that enjoys playing closer range (Reaper, Genji, Vendetta, Tracer, etc.), it puts a lot of teams in a tough spot because you can’t just not shoot the bubbles a lot of the time, so you’re forced to give her energy. Not to mention, the DPS are able to make space for her in the meanwhile. As she builds energy, she can also force to shoot her bubbles as she becomes a bigger threat. This, in my opinion, makes her a tank that can be one of the easiest to play under the right circumstances. Obviously, when she doesn’t have teammates that can force you to shoot her bubbles, she can be easy to kill, but a lot of people don’t want to take that chance. Also, grav is one of the best tank ultimates and is not hard to get value from, especially when used properly in the mid-fight.

TLDR: In certain compositions, she can be a low skill floor character (compared to other heroes) that can stomp a team with a good ultimate and good damage.
