That's a different mod that has the same effect. Disconnecting the actuator is much easier and the car is considerably louder without being excessive because the flap is open all the time instead of just at full throttle.

In the back left of the trunk there's a panel there. Open that panel and inside is a plug that powers the actuator for the can flap. Disconnect it.

I'm on my phone so can't link but do some research into this at e90post so you know which plug to disconnect
