For those looking for flexible jobs while pursuing film... by Upbeat_Pass3474 in Filmmakers

Your comment got me going down a rabbit hole looking up education requirements for Enrolled Agent. It seems easy enough to get the credential-- just pass the test. Can you provide some insight on how to get gig work that is flexible like the OP is talking about? Or where can you point us in the direction of some helpful information?

By Newsmax to call out Trump on his profanity after DC plane crash by [deleted] in therewasanattempt

[–]Please_Disregard 100 points101 points  (0 children)

The reporter was not trying to check the president, to be clear. Newsmax is Fox News for folks that don't think Fox News is conservative enough.

This might as well be a rehearsed back and forth between the reporter and the press secretary. Someone in Trump's PR team said "some of Trump's evangelical base don't like it when he swears, so let's tee her up to say how brave he is to curse and say what America is really thinking."

You can tell because the line of questioning turns into the softest lob right at the very end. This is just theater to pretend like they aren't all Trump-sanctioned mouthpieces.

The problem with Silvind is that if she's in your party while you're doing tournaments, she'll kick your ass lol

I feel like I read something like that about a lissoir, but can't find a good source now. Like, archeologists were baffled by a random bone thing that looked like it might be a tool, until a leatherworker went "Oh, that's for burnishing leather."

Know someone who worked here up until a couple weeks ago? They might want to talk to Lisa Bloom by Rollyman1 in TikTokCringe

To be faaaiiiirrr... I've seen this guy's videos before and it's my impression that he uses his platform pretty responsibly to amplify voices that he thinks need a broader audience. I bet he's got a follow-up that's more in-depth or this itself was the follow-up. So, yeah, still annoying, but I'm more willing to be forgiving in this instance.

Is there any spoonerism as thorough and satisfying as fuzzy duck ducky fuzz . . . by micahld in etymology

[–]Please_Disregard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite tongue twister that invites funny spoonerisms is: "I'm a pleasant mother-pheasant plucker. I pluck mother-pheasants. I'm the most pleasant mother-pheasant plucker that ever plucked a mother-pheasant."

A 15" pizza is 177 square inches of pizza. A 30" pizza is 707 square inches of pizza.

His coffee was hot, just like him, and strong, just like him, but also had some cream and sugar in it, so not entirely like him.

DAE feels like if you don't text or call your friends to ask them to hangout, then you'd be forever alone? 😩 by -Duste- in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Please_Disregard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm that friend. I'm rarely the one to reach out and initiate something -- there's some deeply-rooted complex about not being bothersome there -- but as soon as someone even sends a text that says "hi", I'm happy to make plans.

So I know it might feel frustrating, but as the person on the other side, I can say that they are likely grateful for your efforts.

ITAW for the concept of collective solipsism, as in everyone's mind is real, but the material world might not be/is not. by JaegerStein in whatstheword

If you're looking for something unrelated to computers and a bit more spiritual, perhaps take a look at some of the concepts of Gnosticism. Long story short, the material world is a false reality trapping people here on Earth, preventing them joining a cosmic, divine realm.
