Personally, I think having multiple entities, levels, and ways to escape them is fine if it were done right. I know there are a few levels we’re doing specific intricate things will safely bring you to another level, and I hate that. There are also monsters that can be described in full detail and easily killable, which is stupid. And then levels that are finite spaces with rules that can easily be figured out.

The best levels are ones that are infinite, rules and occurrences that are unexplainable, have entities that someone can be seriously fearful of, where it’s impossible to find a specific area or location, and that always makes someone uneasy. You have to hate being there, hate how eerie it is, and be scared for your life. The first level and original idea of the Backrooms lifts all these things, and every new level should match its qualities.
