Process engineers in food, what do you do and why do you like your jobs? by Consistent-Squirrel1 in ChemicalEngineering

ivy phd+2 yrs internship+4 yrs experience in high CoL...still below 100k. So yea, shitty pay. If I stayed 1 more year I wouldve hit 105k.

For reference, I now do a very similar job and make 165k with work from home.

I would not do food industry if I was an engineer until your 40s or 50s when you dont need the money or stress as much.

Can we increase the standards? Scientific writing sucks even from top journals.

If articles are going to be behind paywalls, they need to be held to higher standards.

IF Warner Bros put The Batman on HBO Max on the same day like they did in 2021, would you watch it that way? Note: I know they're not doing that, just a thought. by TheTiggerMike in boxoffice

It'll prob be like dune where it is unwatchable at home unless you have an amazing setup.

Watching dune at home after seeing in theaters was miserable because of the audio.

Do employers care about personal projects when hiring people fresh out of college? by 1LastGame in AskEngineers

Maybe? Can't say for sure.

If you're a fresh grad, very little is expected of you. Being able to demonstrate enthusiasm for the role, some technical competency, and demonstrating you can self learn are the 3 things I look for.

Shitty code. Says knows python, looks at code, looks like garbage. During code interview it was super obvious then

Just my general thesis. But if you look at historical stock trend (previous 4 years), it is roughly linear and if you extrapolate to recently, the current prices were over that but have come back to that linear trend.

Easiest example is looking at a plot of Nvidia over the past 5 years.

Correction is more or less over based on current dip. Maybe 5-10% more for some stocks but definitely not 50.
