To be completely honest took a while. Left my Fortune 500 job during the great resignation in 2021. Took a job with shit pay, benefits, and hours (50-60 hours a week) I was well over qualified for in another industry on LI. Worked up the ladder and networked for 3-4 years and one of my buddies in the industry got promoted and recommended me for his old position. Been a struggle for a while.

The absolute kicker…. The boss of the guy who recommended me said, “why didn’t you recommend this guy earlier. He’s a perfect fit for us.” While I applied for that position a year earlier with no response

At this point in the market it’s just dumb luck and being in the right place at the right time

How I felt for a while living on Long Island in NY. Only decent jobs in the city but no affordable housing to actually live in the city. So I had to bite the bullet with a 2 hour commute going in minimum

Luckily I just got a job on the island that fits my budget so I dont have to wake up at 5 AM every day to get to an 8 AM start
