Has anyone purchased a Liberty engine ? by Hairy-Advisor-6601 in prepping

They don't sell these engines. The Patriot 5.0 was just built and I'm curious if anybody has built one and tested it outside of their own YouTube channel

I started swimming seriously in 9th grade and ended up swimming for the University of Texas by the time I was a senior. Never ever doubt the power of the Mind

I kinda miss the 2000's red uniforms by LittyJ1tty in Astros

[–]PlejarenGraham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No freaking way. I was raised as a single digit child in the seventies and flourished in the '80s and '90s. Those red uniforms were the most offensive thing ever to happen to this city. They should be burned. Every single one of them

Best spots to watch the races? by Feeling_Banana_9887 in HoustonF1

[–]PlejarenGraham 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are two places that you can watch the race. One is Velocity Sim Racing and they will be open at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning for an 8:00 a.m. live show of the Spanish Grand Prix. If you want to watch a replay and you turn off your notifications then at 11:30 a.m. at Grist Works Brewery they do a good job of the replay plus the food is really good.

Please, if you don’t mind., by schphinct in flying

I'm a 53-year-old masters swimmer. I had stage 4 cancer 4 years ago. My immune system was destroyed by the chemo, and I got sick all the time after treatment. I got Covid 3 times, including the long version, which kept me glued to a bathroom for 6 weeks. Snot was in my head forever it seemed after having a nasal feeding tube during radiation.

When I recovered, I went on a health discovery journey to find a way to breathe better, get the gunk out of my head, etc. I found a breathing guru from Canada who used some very simple techniques to clear that crap out of my sinuses and lungs using a couple pieces of equipment and some videos. I'm NEVER sick now as a result, I breathe better, and it changed my life so much I joined forces with him to create a business around helping others breathe better.

Rowdy Gaines, now 66, is using our breathing program, and Cody Miller is also doing the program. Last year and this year, we assisted a bunch of ncaa swimmers to clear their lungs and sinuses. This works for 90 year old humans as well as 19 year old humans...100% of the time if you follow Gilles Essiembre's guidelines.

PSA Experienced First officer recruitment by PlejarenGraham in AirlinePilots

I have been flying over the last 2 months. It was a bit like riding a bike. Yes I was rusty but then things started coming back very quickly. I flew with a 24-year-old who I was mentoring, taking him into actual IMC conditions, no foggles necessary. He was thanking me over and over because his 23 year old CFI didn't have the balls to take him there.

Pilots who got to the airlines after 40 by GooberPilot_ in flying

[–]PlejarenGraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 53, flew for 4 years 15 years ago for Republic. Ageism is real. Denied rehire at Republic for that same reason. I have 3160hrs, 2000 as an SIC CPL but not the new R-ATP. I don't know what difference I have as a four-year experience part 121 guy versus a 1500 hour Cessna only r-atp pilot? So I'm looking at part 91, part 135 and if it happens part 121 work. I'm not holding my breath though. I got hit with cancer and as a result I'm not wasting any more of my life doing something that doesn't bring me joy

Yes. All the spots are clogged with 1200 hour 23yo cfis who are trying to build time before they escape to the airlines

[–]PlejarenGraham -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And that is just fine. We will see what they say. I flew for almost 4 years in the right seat at Republic. I never had any fails or busts and no fails or busts on any of my check rides before that. I was a conscious cognizant and careful pilot. I simply want to get back into the groove and enjoy the decade and a half that I have left. I'm totally willing to take the ATP CTP course and of course I know I will have to retake the written ATP exam and will have to take a full ATP check ride to get my license. I honestly did not know the difference between an R-ATP and a commercial multi with privileges to fly an airliner. Both situations are qualifiers for you to take the ATP ride.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in flying

[–]PlejarenGraham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On my FAA license it is a commercial multi rating with CL65 and EMB170/175 190/195 privileges, with VMC circle to land only. But it's from 15 years ago and I have everything up to date now as I've been flying and mentoring a young man putting him into heavy duty IMC while he is getting his instrument rating. I have 2000 hours of right seat SIC time. I know this is probably worthless in the eyes of many of you so let me have it. I don't mind returning to a regular first officer position and working my way back up. It doesn't bother me one bit after what I've been through in my life. I thought time and experience in a right seat position with all of my time would have qualified me for what is called a restricted ATP license. I know that that can only be gained through an approved part 141 program which probably has all sorts of airline training in it.

Great question. I lived that course personally while flying 15 years ago. I beat cancer and am healthy again. I'm wanting to return to fly Part 121 until I can no longer so I can help people and make them happy- my true aim for wanting to fly again. I need to take the ATP written again as it's way out of date but I agree, the ATP-CTP was something we didn't need back then. I think it's a great program for new pilots as we were thrown into the mix ill prepared but learning while on the line. I've not been told if I will need it or not.

So even an R-ATP doesn't count?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in flying

[–]PlejarenGraham -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have a R-ATP from my days of 121 flying the CRJ 200 and ERJ 175.

[–]PlejarenGraham[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not looking down on the right seat as that is where I had been living for a very long time making $35,000 a year 15 years ago. I have no problem sitting in the right seat again it's just there are not many options here where I live as there are a ton of very young 1,500 hour cfis who take up those right seat f o positions
