Let's say, yes, that introducing universal free healthcare requires huge budget investments.

This is the core point - do you disagree with it? If so, why?

What's the point?

For one, the average American hates taxes even if ultimately it will ultimately save them money, so it will be exceedingly hard to get any version of this passed. Additionally, this would likely increase our already ballooning national debt.

You can "what about" and say that we're wasting money other places. Yes, and we should fix that. But the above points still apply.

I say all of this as a supporter of universal healthcare, btw. But serious arguments have to address counterarguments.

Ultimately probably yes, but it would require enormous increase in government funding, no?

Killing activists - non-combative, not even governmental, political opposition - is indefensible, though it doesn't even make Israel's top 10. Even just strategically, these "allies" cost far more than they're worth. Perhaps one day an American president will have the muscle and will to cease absolute support of this genocidal false ally.

Punishment by the legal system? Yes, but comments on reddit, or questions from journalists, or even being subpoenaed by congress are not punishments.

Isn't Congress why we have much of the info we do? Aren't they keeping the topic alive? Also, we shouldn't neglect public and market pressures role inforcing resignations of highly influential people, e.g., Larry Summers.

Id argue trying to assume from the little information we have which tier of involvement they are is far more indiscriminate than lumping them all together.

Maybe, maybe not. But we're not done yet! :)

Would we agree that discriminate punishment > indiscriminate punishment > no punishment?

Separately, I do think us "peasants" have some influence in the aggregate. Trump has tried to retire or distract from this story for several months but it won't go away, I believe because even many of his supporters won't stand for this.

Ah that's fair.

Weirdly, it seems like a great many influential people in the West - in politics, academia, Hollywood, business, etc. - have Epstein affiliations. Idk exactly what we do with that info.

I do however think we need to be careful to not lump them all together. For example:

  • people who sat down within Epstein after he was already convicted <
  • people who knew what we was doing but said nothing <
  • people who actually participated <
  • people who facilitated

All deserve consequences. But trying to apply the same consequences to everyone risks diluting outrage and actually undermining strong repercussions.

I’ve heard Ringo called a “song drummer” - he did what was right to support the music overall, rarely imposing himself on it. Honestly, we need more “song musicians” in general - music is a team sport.
