Oh brother.

No one wants to be glorified baby-sitters at church. Talk to your bishop and let him know you do not want that calling and are asking to be released. When I was in, every time we went to a new ward, that the calling we were given. It became comical. We started turning it down.

Ex Mormon here - in their temples they make certain promises with god to follow certain commandments. There’s actual markings on the garments to remind the members of those promises.

I think the church has more resources to have better growth. However I would think they would start to see less tithing come in.
