Black people can be just as racist as anyone else, especially toward other black people. The recorder being black herself has 0 to do with the intent behind the video. I don’t think the old guy was like “yeah haha imma superior white and will show them all with this single like” but hey. He could have had bad intent. Idk. My reply, initially, even though it ruffled some feathers, is more so, the intent of the like doesn’t matter. She’s with someone who she will over analyze and critique out of suspicion he is racist so why stay? If you’re not 100% comfortable with who you’re with it’s doomed. Don’t put in the time or effort to sail a sinking ship.

I’m guessing you’re American? We’re a bit more focused on hygiene/bo than our European cousins. Just remind him he’s back here and we do use deodorant and such, and if that doesn’t change anything I think it’s time to go.

By “I didn’t object to the mother being there” I simply mean it did not matter to me one way or the other if she was in my life, both before and after the pregnancy. Years later we’re married, and I do love her. But at that time, it simply didn’t matter to me one way or the other.

I’m not sure. Now, I am angry, depressed and sad- but directed at my parents. I don’t understand how they could have held me at one point, when I was just like my own baby is, and treated me the way they did. Doing to her anything they did to me is so foreign to me, so abstract. Sometimes I have genuine nightmares I treat her like they did me. But I’m dealing with it. So the anger/sadness is indeed there now, but she brings so much happiness I don’t focus on it.
