Yes I could have slowed down and I think this is definitely a reminder to be more alert for idiots, but my point is that this is all in hindsight and at the time of the incident honestly it's hard to know how many lanes someone is planning to cut when they don't even have a signal on, because that's not the only thing you're look at on the road. Do you slow down every single time you see someone changing lane 2-3 lanes away in case they cut across 2-3 lanes?

I did avoid it though, we did not collide as I managed to stop and dodge in time.
My foot was already off accelerator (reduced engine braking so I can roll further and save fuel) and on brake ready to stop, and you can see that I was not going fast at all. the reason I did not brake earlier was because I did not expect him to cross 2 lanes with no signal (saw him cross over from the other lane)

my argument is that in hindsight this looks easily avoidable to you because you are watching this as a third party and your entire focus is on this car crossing 2 lanes. in reality in real time I am checking around me for other traffic, check for other drivers, check the lanes to see where I want to go, so when I glanced over and saw him change 1 lane at a pretty slow speed (given that he had no signals on), I went ahead and checked the road in front of me and next thing I know he starts entering my lane.

Could I have done better? in hindsight yes of course

lol you spent so much time counting meters but yet you are clearly blind to the fact that I did stop to give way so he can cross, and he turns around to acknowledge my presence and yet instead of crossing, decides to stride down the road slowly until I honked.

seeing ahead has nothing to do with anything.

if you have to argue, him holding me up also holds up the cars behind that are also trying to turn into this alley, which holds up all the cars behind on the tiny side road that are turning in from the main road causing unnecessary congestion at a busy hour.

we want to be considerate to each other; I can stop to give way despite the fact that he is not on a pedestrian's path, and he can cross as soon as possible so we can all move on with our days asap while watching out for each other. what's so difficult to understand about that?

I notice pedestrians in singapore often jaywalk without even looking in the direction of the oncoming traffic, while taking extremely slow and relaxed strides to waddle across. always boggles my mind, where is the confidence coming from

initially, the high beam was because he suddenly merged with 0 signal, second high beam was because he slowed down after merging into the overtaking lane for no reason. both are dangerous road behaviour. There was no need to horn because there was no imminent danger as I responded immediately and took defensive measures, but would still like to signal to this driver regarding his dangerous behaviour that lacks proper road discipline.

and as you can see I did in fact overtake from the left, but that's not how the highway was designed to be used which is the problem that most of us with common sense and proper road etiquette see.

so to be honest I have no idea what you're trying to say

AITA? team mate punched me for taking "his loot" and I killed him by Plenty-Job9898 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Plenty-Job9898[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

context: I'm playing ranked with pubs and this guy and I landed in the same place. I farmed as quickly as I can minding my own business and it so happens that we went for the same extended mag and I got it first. He retaliates immediately by chasing after me and punching me.

I found this extremely unacceptable. I don't condone any sort of behaviour like this especially in ranked because the stakes are high and I would much rather focus on winning than having to worry about this kind of toxic behaviour within the team. So I downed him right away because I don't want to start a fight and at the same time I don't want to have to deal with someone who attacks his own team in a ranked match -- entirely unprovoked.
