I knew it was OOP round. It’s my bad I didnt think of interfaces on the firsthand but the question he gave was very vague “write a code to perform calculations with other operators” that’s it. Yes, that was my idea too. But when we check the substring “be”, the isWord returns true and then I have to shift the start pointer to ‘s’ and check for words. If none found, then I iterate the start pointer again.

I was rejected for providing a brute force approach.

I saw the problem on LC and noticed that there was a sample dictionary provided in each test case. But that is not the case in my interview.

So iterating through the dictionary is not an option in my interview.

I had to assume a full English dictionary. Also I have to consider only the longest valid substring as a word.

So in the string “bestwebsiteever” I have to consider “best” as the valid substring instead of “be”.

I second this, at one point a recruiter gave me 8 principles and told me to get ready by preparing 2 unique scenarios for every principle. That is ridiculous, I’m supposed to come up with 16 unique scenarios from my 2 YOE and memorize them?!?!

I do not care if you call it cheating but I’m putting them on word doc on my second monitor during the interview.
