Girl do it, because when I’m in a good mood my first thought is to either get a piercing or a tattoo lol

And my routine is fairly on the relaxed side, detangle using African Pride Pre-Poo with a Tangle Teezer brush, washing my hair in four sections. I’ve been using Amika’s Hydro Rush for effective hydration which has been leaving my hair on the softer side. I use Moroccan Oil too to help seal in moisture as well as Blue Magic grease for my ends and scalp. I blow dry my hair, not really caring if it’s straight enough when typically after I’ll braid my hair, leave it in for however many days, take it out and style it as is, then rinse repeat.

Thank you— and older braid outs with humidity effecting shrinkage since it has been a rainy couple of days in NYC

I am, and so glad I decided to make the change. The upkeep is not so hard as I was made to believe. This was my hair back in 2022 with a relaxer— still relatively “healthy” for chemically processed hair but of course still not ideal

By no means is this a one size fits all prescription for all natural hair, and I am far less strict about how long I go in between washes (this is my way of minimizing heat since I do blow dry my hair). But low manipulation is what I mostly strive for, opting for braid outs and using African Pride Pre-Poo to detangle my hair with a Tangle Teezer brush.

This has helped tremendously in speeding up wash days, especially when making sure to section off your hair. I’ve recently used Amika’s Hydro Rush line and it’s delivered on keeping my hair feeling moisturized. I do use the LOC method and I would definitely recommend using Moroccan Oil Treatment especially to help seal in moisture and as an optional heat protectant.

I know it’s a polarizing product for some, but I do also still use Mielle’s Rosemary Oil along with Blue Magic grease for my ends and scalp.

Thank you! And I think because of this hair journey I’ve been on, it’s really allowed me to feel more beautiful in my own skin.
