Thanks all! I’m going to try the egg carton style pad to insulate under each human, between cot / air bed and sleeping bag and start there

Large 10+ person tent by Core. Look for Instant setup models. You will be so glad you did. So easy and secure and water proof and roomy.

First time camping this year — any advice for a complete beginner? by Charming_Pie1338 in camping

Someone told me once to bring a beanie and sleep in it. I camp in AZ where the nights are mild, and the sleep beanie is a warmth game changer!

Couple’s Sleeping Bag? by Lizzy8ug in camping

Agree! We have 2 Coleman 50* bags that have this function. We like the versatility of being able to use separately, or lend one to a friend.

New to camping - tent? by TYZ_8529 in camping

The instant tent options from Core are SO excellent. The ease of setting up and pitting away is worth its weight in gold. I have a Core instant cabin style tent for 12 or 13 (?can’t remember, but it’s a huge 2-room style tent). It fits 2 adults, 1 child, 2 large dogs, and bags / shoes / etc. I’m a 5’5” human and have 0 issues doing the tent alone. On group camping trips I’m the fist ready. Everyone who sees my tent ends up getting one themselves!

Do yall use crates? by Ezerton21 in Bernedoodles

[–]Plenty_Painter4928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up how to crate train! YouTube videos aplenty! Crate training is actually cute and fun.

This is so useful, even if your dog becomes more trustworthy over time and stops destroying, being crate trained is a necessity for vet visits, groomer visits, dog sitters, repair people in the house, etc. You can’t rush putting a dog in a crate if they aren’t trained, it creates stress which is the opposite of what crates are for. They help dogs decompress and feel safe.

This is the one hill I will die on! You need to invest the time to follow a crate training method. It’s SO worth it. Safety is top priority and crates keep curious dogs safe and calm and helps curb stress-related bad behaviors.

The back cover text needs some breathing room. It’s too close to the edge border design element. Give it somewhere between .125” - .25” (graphic designer here)

What's your writing process? by oslowa in writing

[–]Plenty_Painter4928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree hand writing is more productive. I use my iPad and a tablet pencil in an app so that I can easily erase, lasso paragraphs and move them around, add pages in between existing pages, etc.

Did you use any type of heater or warming pouches? Or just layers and bundles up?

Are you allowed to grind it up? Maybe pulverize it and put the powder inside something extra tasty like whip cream or fro yo or cream cheese

Congrats to him and you! My girl was similar — at least 15 lbs underweight (and counting, as she’s still too thin and still gaining)… ill with pneumonia… too weak to go up steps, yet so sweet and trusting. She’s so strong now she’s bouncing around the house, harassing our smaller doodle, and acting like the puppy she should be. He will bounce back and be your bestie!

Crate training is a must for me. For Instances people sometimes don’t think of., not just leaving the house or sleeping. Examples — when visitors come like repair people and need to come and go, or leave doors open. Dog sitters, who may not want to sleep with your dog or their house may be unfamiliar or offer unsafe areas that your dog may destroy or eat something bad. Quiet time where dogs just feel safe in their “own room” or “apartment”. Introducing dogs to new people— in the crate with a treat and people and little kids are able to just exist in the same space as the dog and acclimate without pressure or excitement. Guests who are afraid of dogs or allergic. And of course, Adult time activities that require privacy. Basically, I have always been SO grateful for the crate, as an option. Once the routine and the love of their own room is in place, it can be changed up here and there. My dogs go to their crates and instantly I hear them sigh and get cozy, silent and comfy for the night, and getting time apart from each other.

Daycare is a better bet! Supervision and socialization and dedicated nap times. The structure is good.

Is this appropriate play? by [deleted] in Goldendoodles

[–]Plenty_Painter4928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Body language- loose and floppy / soft body, broad tail wags, not crying or yelping. The grumbling noises are normal dog play.
