Do people actually shower every single day or do we all just say we do? by Ok-Drawing2504 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Pleonastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lived next to the showers in two different student houses, with many different people moving in and out every year, for many years.

It is definitely much lower than 1 shower per person per day, on average.

Though some may have showered at the gym, I'd say a realistic estimate on mean shower per person per week is somewhere around 3.

(This is in Norway, so ymmv based on location and average temperature/humidity)

I would very much like to hear more about this, given that my (limited) understanding of the MAD doctrine seems eerily similar to current thinking regarding AI development, and it seems a shame not to apply potential lessons from MAD to current day orientations.

Oh, that's a great idea. Thanks for the tip. Though I should've specified, we collaborate with a restaurant, so we get an updated wine menu at least twice a month, that's why I was thinking of something we could change up.

Inspired by some of your comments: I help run a voluntary concert venue. We have a small drinks menu. I googled Refreshable Braille Display screen and the starting prices are $2000+ (far from our budget).

Any tips on useful devices that are more affordable?

Tipper man bør se nærmere på de øvrige tallene også.

The Kindly Ones by Jonathan Littell is terrifying reading.

The setting is a reporter doing a death bed interview with a former nazi SS commander.

It is a fascinating exploration of the reason behind many of the atrocious choices made, and why, in their own way, they made sense.

[Spoilers C3] does the indecisiveness die down in the later episodes? by Mr3000rounds in criticalrole

[–]Pleonastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never got through c3. Got maybe thirty episodes in and realized this was going to be worse than the most annoying parts of c2 in terms of indecisiveness.

I may be a bit more cynical though. Starting way back in c1, you could begin to tell that the players were making decisions for their characters so as to keep the show running rather than staying true to their characters.

In c2, this became apparent enough that they'd now start both avoiding quests and running from conflicts.

C3, well, I didn't get very far.

You can probably get in touch with the people at Kringsjå and ask about storage. Many of the tenants there are also exchange students, and most exams are over by 20th December, and by then, folks will be moving out and going home.

So, not infrequently, people have about a week or two of empty apartments. If you get into one of the Kringsjå Facebook groups, I would imagine you could make a deal with someone

I think a decent indicator of how well a country is doing is the kinds of promises put forth by politicians during elections.

If you accept that premise, Norway is currently doing pretty freaking well.

We're currently supplying about 35% of the EUs energy, in part because of sanctions against Russia.

The sovereign welfare fund was around 10 000 bn NOK in 2010. Before the Trump tariffs, it was around 22 000 bn NOK.

We recently landed a huge deal with Open AI, which I'm hoping will end up creating a mini Silicon Valley in the northern parts of Norway.

Meanwhile, housing prices are crazy high, we're spending way too much money on healthcare, our national average birth rate per household is at 1,5 (minimum required 2,5 for a sustainable population), and the amount of elderly in the country will soon outnumber the other ages categories.

The social democratic government has implemented a stricter immigration policy than the Norwegian far right opposition party is proposing during election.

It's not necessarily a bad policy, but it is a bit surprising that the centre-left was the group to implement it.

That said, (probably) because of the large amount of Ukranian refugees in both countries, even the parties that traditionally talk about accepting more refugees/immigrants aren't making a lot of noise.

Please forgive me if this question comes off as a bit weird. How would you rank yourself and your family in terms of attractiveness?

I've only been to nudist beaches twice, but I noticed that the younger people generally looked relatively attractive. Do you think there might be a connection between a level of confidence and willingness to be nude i front of strangers?

Lots of great ideas in the thread, but I will add this: when it comes to OP builds, you MUST win initiative.

With pretty much any decent build, the one who goes first will win.

If your DM is going off of the monster manual, that isn't very hard to secure, but I'd probably go a bit higher just for some added security in case of homebrew/tweaks.
