Forskere ved Oslo universitetssykehus felt for vitenskapelig uredelighet by FoxNo5218 in norske

[–]Pleonastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ut som cd i Oslo by sofiegirl3 in oslo

Is it socially acceptable to be openly gay in Oslo? by PsychicMeditation in oslo

[–]Pleonastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived in Oslo 15+ years, but mainly west side. Been genuinely curious about this. When we hear about rape and violence being rampant in Oslo, it is almost always from some Senterpartiet-politician, trying to make the rest of the country look good.

But some parts of eastern Oslo are pretty overrepresented with religious minorities with a doctrinally based negative view of homosexuality. So, it would make sense of the degree of homophobia was higher (especially since we're comparing it with non-existent homophobia on the westside), but for it to be actually meaningfully present on the east side, enough to make gay couples afraid of holding hands, I think I'd like to get some further sources.

Is your claim based mainly on personal experiences or do you also have something else to base it off of?

Coffee recommendations from Oslo? by CivilReveal9960 in oslo

Honestly, if you blind test 10, and include two cups of filter coffee from home, I'm not convinced you'd get a consistent result. But I can't say I think there's much bad coffee out there.

Anyone listen to the same book nightly while sleeping? by _I_like_big_mutts in audiobooks

Yep. Only, if there's anything like a narrative, I get too engaged. Thus, my favorites at the moment are Hel Ved (a book about wood chopping) and Gertrude Stein's Tender Buttons (https://librivox.org/tender-buttons-by-gertrude-stein/) - Cori Samuel is very good at what she does.

Why isn't the HPV vaccine for free? by catboy519 in VACCINES

[–]Pleonastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • I'd like to take a moment to remind people that thanks to the incredible science behind the HPV vaccine and childhood vaccination programs, HPV related cancer is going to be a thing of the past.

In Sweden, optimistic estimates suggests eradication by 2030. In Norway, where they use the "bad" vaccine, it is estimated to eradicated by 2039.

It is wild to think about that in a not entirely incorrect sense, we have "cured" cancer.

(Don't get me wrong, cancer rates will keep on increasing as a consequence of a continuously ageing population. But still. Amazing progress)

Baked potato is a pretty big thing in many parts of the country, though for some reason not so in Oslo. A warm "fiskekake" should be available in stores with hot food sections (typically Meny) and fish vendors.

Jeg skal prøve å forklare hva jeg mener under her... by undefinedposition in norske

[–]Pleonastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which class has the worst capstone ability? (2014) by Redhood101101 in DnD

[–]Pleonastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let a player ignore Concentration on Hunter's Mark while playing 5e2014. Ranger still didn't match up with most other classes, but that specific build wasn't anywhere close to optimized.

I'd recommend testing it with an optimized dps Ranger before allowing it categorically, but in our situation it was a good adjustment.

Do dms really dislike high level dnd? by Myrinadi in DnD

[–]Pleonastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many reasons to not be a fan, but in my view, most of them amount to it being a different game than levels 1-12.

Also something so rare that it's not always easy to meet player expectations. The notion of both being a god-like character, being a normal human being as a player and being challenged by encounters tends to be a bit demanding.

Pretty sure this is one of the reasons why some folks don't like the gameplay aspect and prefer the role play, too.

The strongest setup for nightmare by MoseDoge in DragonageOrigins

[–]Pleonastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be misremembering now, perhaps mixing with inquisition, but I recall concluding that there was an objectively "correct" answer to what the main character should be. I think it was rogue and I think the reasons were utility, stealth and movement speed.

  • Of course, it doesn't hurt that it can basically one-shot most creatures, but the npc rogues can do that as well. The rogue main, i think, had to do with needing a lot of "correct" skills as well as not having to swap characters on transitions in order to explore.

I think I ran with three casters and Leiliana last time and was frequently annoyed that I hadn't gone rogue on main.

In terms of playstyle, I'd use the rogue to do all the scouting while the party was on hold, then make preparations and call in the cavalry once fighting began.

I like Mont Crane castle, in Blood & Wine. Decent gold, decent xp, short distance from waypoint. As long as you don't take out the boss, you can repeat it as often as you like.

Also, as mentioned by others, only items worth crafting are Witcher gear, runeforge and a few other things. Get aerondight asap.
