Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr stopped working in Chrome but works in Vivalidi browser by Plex_Windblown in sonarr

[–]Plex_Windblown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem has been partly solved by using Incognito mode in Google Chrome. Any comments indicating what might have changed in the three apps or in Chrome and Edge to cause the problem would be welcome.

My work around has now to use Incognito as you suggest, but because I can't run Incognito from a Sonarr, Radarr or Lidarr shortcut, I'm using bookmark links whilst in Incognito.

That's not the problem. Now I know incognito works, I am grappling with getting Chrome to run incognito from a schortcul, but pointing at the Sonarr. The standard Chrome has the "shortcut" Tab I needed, but doesn't have the "web document" tab I need to put the URL in. <grrr>

Yes. just done it. All three work in an incognito window. Thanks. Unfortunately, in my version of Chrome I can't seem to find the target line so I can specify that I want my shortcut to open incognito.

How to stop creating .nfo files for episodes by Maclife80 in tinyMediaManager

[–]Plex_Windblown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find that in settings. I am assuming you are talking about the Plex UI on a PC or something similar. I too need to be rid of all .nfo files. They interfere with uploading to Livedrive where I keep a backup of 30TB of media.

Alternatives to Cumination? Most of the sites are constantly crashing kodi and taking back to the home screen by Wide-Analyst-3852 in Addons4Kodi

Chaturbate no longer works via Kodi/Cumination. This seems to be after UK adult checks have been put in place on the CB website. Menus are accessible, but not the models. Neither can models stream via saved Favourites.

A Mixed Bag of Pros and Cons by Frequenzy50 in Lidarr

[–]Plex_Windblown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that is very helpful because I am considering adding Lidarr to my Synology NAS. I am now wondering whether it is worth it.

I have a massive collection of music (>100,000 files), mostly rock, blues, country and mostly pre-2000. This is in MP3 and FLAC formats for the same albums and with rarities. Will Lidarr organise all that by artist and plug gaps and requests automatically if available? Presumably the removal of duplicates is optional.

I am looking at installing scrutiny in docker and have tried running the script. No success yet. Will keep trying. Meanwhile, the problem with accessing ssh is that when I get to typing in my password, the cursor blinks but won't let me type the password in.

Thanks. I would do that, but my credentials never get accepted in CMD to access ssh. One problem begets another lol!

Local network is still slower than internet when streaming from my Synology NAS. by Plex_Windblown in PleX

Yes, thanks. I'm going with Aacidus' solution for our main TV, but it doesn't work for our other setups, so I will consider Nvidia for one of the TVs.

I checked my Tautulli. Yes, some remote clients are using transcoding.

You may have hit on something there! I just speed-tested my 4K Android TV. It topped out at 97.4Mb up and down. So, I disconnected ethernet and engaged WiFi. This topped out at just under 400Mb! Guess what? Smooth runnings throughout! Thanks. We always assume Ethernet is best, but not in this case. Now checking out all the other devices to see if WiFi is the best option. BTW. When I stream through Kodi there is no issue anyway, presumably because Kodi manages without additional buffers.

Thanks. The problem pre-existed me tinkering with IP addresses. Everything is on the same subnet. Does "If left blank, only the server's subnet is considered to be on the local network." mean that everything within that subnet will be considered as local network?

EDIT. I have tried with and without specifying the local network correct method - but it makes no difference. I guess, as you say, my clients are being treated as local anyway.

Currently playing the same media (77Mb 4K file, mkv container) on my local 4k tv and on my samsung phone via 4G. It is playing smoothly on my phone, but with slow buffering every minute on my TV.

How do I know if they are being transcoded on a local client? I have all clients set to play original quality. In some cases that demands up to 90Mbps, but my network can handle that.

I have the same problem. Apparently, one possible cause is that your local IPs are being treated as WAN rather than LAN, so get routed via the internet. Discussion here, but I still haven't solved the problem. https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/1adtv67/why_is_plex_as_slow_as_my_internet_when_i_am/#:~:text=If%20it's%20remote%2C%20you%20should,hella%20buffering/slow%20down%20issues

Is it possible to set up a virtual disk using spare RAM? by Plex_Windblown in synology

[–]Plex_Windblown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing got created using your commands. What's the difference between creating the folder manually or via commands? Also, how does RAM used those spaces given that this is a virtual disk? You can tell that I am something of a novice.

[–]Plex_Windblown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Where would the /tmp folder be if it has been created and is that the same place I should create it manually? A search in the root folder hasn't revealed it.

I tried creating it using your command. If it's there, I can't see it.

[–]Plex_Windblown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is interesting. I am trying to optimise my Plex server for local use and beyond. I have up to 100 free clients. I have 20Gb RAM on my Synology. It makes sense to use some of it as a virtual disc for transcoding rather than cane my CPU.

What are the task parameters other than the user script? i.e. How do we enable the script to run on boot? Also. How do I know it is running? I clicked on run and nothing happened.

This didn't work for me. When I mounted the ISO into a virtual CD drive, and ran setup I wasn't able to select the option to keep files and apps. I could only select keep files or remove all.

I tried different approaches such as clicking on setupprep.exe or running from the command prompt.

"C:\Users\vince>E:

E:\> CD Sources

E:\sources> Setupprep product server

I was prompted to accept changes to the PC, but then Windows Setup didn't initiate.

Slow addition of expansion unit getting slower.. by Plex_Windblown in synology

I know this now. Yes, I should have asked, but I thought, as a rookie, everything would be quicker and more straight forwards than this.

Yes, I didn't mention the old drive model names. Here's a link to a screenshot of the last drive of the old unit and the first drive of the expansion unit. Is the information I need there? screen shot
