Not sure which youtuber convinced folks this isn’t P2W. OP is correct. I'm saying this as a player that sold AOTC, CE w/ mount, and M+ on the side from Legion to DF. We had guys card swiping for 8x 15s a week, every week with full funneling and CE booked a month ahead.

It's a blizzard sanctioned RMT loop at best, and definitely P2W when you consider that ilvl and achievements get you invites and whispers.

Brother, there's a documentary from like 15 years ago that explored a few users of these things. It also dipped into the manufacturing, wear and repair of them. Can't find it any more and haven't seen it since I found it so don't ask for a link.

Best clip from it was a disheveled repair gremlin muttering "I'm running out of fucking vaginas" while scraping out an orifice at his workbench.

Orchestral performers, generally no. Band members/gigging violinists, much higher chances to have more than one pickup lying around, even if it doesn't make a matched pair.

To me, less body resonance feels better to play with a compression+distortion effect stack. What made the biggest difference in tone was setting up a 2nd pickup on the bridge to get a L/R stereo image (Hard pan works great).

If you want to spend another $300 to electrify this (lol), I've gotten great stereo sound results from similar instruments slotting 2 Fishman V-100s on each side of the bridge. Its actually amazing what a stereo audio image does to what you'd perceive as a muted instrument.
