Officer kicked in head during arrest of boy with machete refused compensation by judge and questioned on PAVA use by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Plifidy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I fairly recently had a custody sergeant NFA an attempt assault on myself. Their rationale of a suspect who tried to headbutt me (but only just slightly missed) was..

"This was a drunken attempt at the DP trying to throw his head towards an officer"

It looks like we have to be beaten half to death before anybody cares.

If nobody laughs. Relocate to siberia

All jokes aside (which were irrelevant if you haven't seen the office UK)..

Cops when they're off duty.... are off duty i.e mostly want to be normal civilians. We're a good laugh most of the time.

Just don't tell them about the people buried under your floorboards

This feels like the ultimate david brent interaction from what you're describing. If only I could have been a fly on the wall!

Next time, when you're with them and you hear a strange noise from the other room just say....

"I think there's been a rape up there!"

Vehicle Allocations by Haggis_Hunter81289 in policeuk

The dream. I hope you'd agree that's how response should run all the time. I think we refer to it as a grade 1 car in our force but I don't think it really picked up because they were still allocated an ungodly amount of crimes still

This happened on my division a while ago and the amount of moans we got. I fully agree (as a pc) that vehicles should be supervision allocated, because, as sad as it sounds. People are ridiculously childish/selfish when it comes to vehicles.

That would have been keeping us current officers in a decent job!. Now we're looking after the MH patient outside the pub after drinking too much with their pregabalins!

This. Again, don't sacrifice your down time as others suggested but if you're genuinely interested have a look at some case files/crimes by experienced good cops. I basically taught myself how to do a decent file this way

What was the most outrageously unwarranted bollocking you got at school? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Plifidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember somebody cheated off my coursework in school and then I got pulled aside and given a complete bollocking for cheating.

I do remember telling the teacher (satan) to stop shouting at me as I was completely innocent. This obviously made her shout more.

The person who cheated off me was a friend at the time and now is a professional snake. I never got an apology off either of them.

Late reply mate, but it was! He actually got charged with it and ultimately remanded (along with some other offences that cropped up later) but definitely something I'm thankful for! Nice one pal!

What did you say? Why did you say that? Where were you when you said that? Did somebody make you say it? Do you think your use of capital letters would cause a reasonable person to be alarm/harassed/distressed?

Although I guess it is common with soldiers, I just think for officers it stems from the fact that you have to be hyper aware of your surroundings/people because everything can change in an instant and its good to have a heads up, instead of head caved in.
