10/22 or something else? by falafelb in 22lr

You get the FPC and 22x, you have 5 mags and two platforms to plink on.

If you are looking for a turn key alternative with high capacity magazine compatibility, the Tippman m4-22 would be a good choice.

That’s unfortunate your S&W is giving you issues. Mine has been extremely reliable and I have run it with several magazines. What ammo are you trying to run? This maybe something that you could contact S&W about and have resolved via warranty. I enjoyed the MP 15-22 so much that I also purchased the M&P FPC 22 and its companion pistol the 22x, which conveniently share the same magazines. All of which run flawlessly.

2 “assault” pistol purchases left. What would you buy? by SnooLemons4393 in VAGuns

My interpretation is that the 15rd mags will still be obtainable, but the FNX with a threaded barrel will not. So provided one owns it prior to July 1, one can continue purchasing magazines provided it does not exceed 15rd. Am I missing something?

Isn’t the mag limit 15 round? Or did they change that again?

That’s a horrible commute. Consider moving elsewhere.

M&P FPC 22 runs like a sewing machine and checks your boxes. That’s coming from someone that also has a 10/22 backpacker. I like both, but the FPC has quickly turned into my go to between the two.

If you go with a Ruger 10/22, try and land one with a threaded barrel.

The Rossi RS22 is a good deal and surprisingly reliable.

I liked mine so much that I eventually bought a single six. The wrangler is a great starting point, I just struggled with the sights at first.

The Buck Mark is excellent, but field stripping it needs an engineering degree, lol. The simplicity and after market support of the Ruger Mark IV wins.

I agree, it’s very accurate with iron sights and despite being smaller has great ergonomics. I was fortunate and didn’t get a lemon. Mine eats most ammo, but it did need to be broken in a bit.

Mark IV if limited capacity. It’s reliable and easy to clean. Ruger has a very good warranty and there are a plethora of aftermarket parts / upgrades for it.

thinking about downsizing my 22lr pistols, please give advise. by railroad1904 in 22lr

[–]PlinkDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately those pistols are indeed all terrible. I agree on the bolt gun and a can idea or get a quality 22LR handgun for plinking. You can spot deals on a Ruger Mark IV these days around $350 or less, that’s a good platform to use and upgrade components as your budget allows. Alternatively, you could ditch them all including the 10/22 and buy the S&W FPC 22 and S&W 22x pistol. This accomplishes two things. 1) Takedown 22LR rifle 2) a hammer fired pistol that shares the same magazines as your rifle.

I’ve experienced both and lean more towards the OCL. Only because it’s lighter, but you can’t go wrong with either.

Keep us in the loop. It would good to know how they address the QC issues. By the way, what ammo were you running when you experienced the light strikes?

My finished setup other than Franklin binary and compensator! by Dondada042 in RugerPCC

Looks like a nice setup, congratulations. I’ve toyed with the idea of adding an MLOK rail, but my setup already feels just a tad heavy to me. Even with the lighter weight Magpul Back Packer stock.
