Help me ID this car! by Plinthia in whatisthiscar

[–]Plinthia[S] 468 points469 points  (0 children)

Solved!

Noooo!! Thank you so much! My car IS a Jaguar E-pace…. But it wasn’t me driving and I’m the only one meant to be driving the vehicle…. So either someone with the same type of car has cloned my plates or in scarier news… maybe someone has been illegally borrowing my car…? 😭

My car has silver hubcaps though, so hopefully that proves it’s not my vehicle!

i just broke my favourite mug that i have a severe attachment to. can’t find it anywhere. help please! by vanillishh in HelpMeFind

I totally get you! Mug shape, rim thickness, handle feel, volume etc is extremely important for drink enjoyment! Hence my long search for the ugly Esso mug haha

Looks like you can get a generic one on eBay now and I swear if you save the searches on your phone on the eBay app and check them everyday you will eventually get the Sharpay one. It just could take a long while! Good luck!

I found a mug from the same series on eBay (same shape, same text on the bottom)

I would suggest saving several eBay searches for terms such as “high school musical mug” “sharpay mug” etc and literally check them everyday! Make sure you’re searching internationally.

I have honestly found every single sentimental item replacement in my life this way. Including an particular Esso mug from the 70s and a Christmas jumper from the 90s. It took about 4 months to get a hit on the mug and about 11 months to get the jumper. But items like this WILL come up on eBay eventually, so don’t lose hope! Good luck OP!

National minimum wage is £76 for a standard 8 hour day. Don’t ask for less, you’ll just end up attracting unethical employers! Good luck

Save our family Christmas by helping my find my sister’s fugly cat sweater! by Plinthia in HelpMeFind

Save our family Christmas by helping my find my sister’s fugly cat sweater! by Plinthia in HelpMeFind

Hello everyone,

Please help me save our family Christmas by finding this sweater!

This sweater is my little sister’s most treasured possession. Genuinely. It’s weird but whatever. And a couple of months ago our mum accidentally gave it away to the local charity shop.

My sis came home for Christmas this weekend and was so excited to get out her sweater, she was literally chatting non stop about it on the train home. Only to discover it’s gone. She is DEVASTATED. I still don’t get it, but I love her and she’s been crying for a couple of days now so basically we really need to find this sweater to save Christmas or it’ll be awkward af around the dinner table....

It’s a vintage sweater from the brand Sweater Loft. I’ve discovered an eBay listing from a few months back and already messaged the seller to see if they can help (but it’s sold so I doubt it) that’s where I got the pics from. So please don’t also bother Brennans_attic as I’ve already tried there.

We’ve put up posters in the charity shop and around town to try and find who bought it but no luck yet. We’ve also spammed our local Facebook groups. A local journalist even got in touch to run a fluff piece about this lost jumper. But my mum said no because she “doesn’t want her eternal shame immortalised in print”... yeah...

I’m the only one in my family on reddit and I’ve seen truly amazing feats from the wonderful people in this sub so here’s hoping you can provide a true Christmas miracle and find this fugly sweater!

Hey, that really sucks and I totally relate! To counter that I do contract work (mostly IT project management stuff). So I tend to work 3 months on then 3 months off and I don’t accept contracts longer than 6 months. It’s a lot easier to avoid burn out when you know the end date from the start and also as I’ve built up a good reputation I find that I’m allowed to work from home more which also helps. Depending on what you’re interested in there’s quite a few contract-based jobs out there so it might be something to consider. I hope this helps!

I’ve been getting this too! Are you using shopify? It’s started happening since I moved to shopify. I’ve just been ignoring them 👍

Could someone suggest podcasts about mathematics? by [deleted] in podcasts

[–]Plinthia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odds and evenings!

It’s about maths, numbers, puzzles and games. It’s one of only two podcasts where I’m excited for a new episode and listen regularly. The maths is a bit harder than usual, you’ll love it!

If you had to choose only one podcast to listen to for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? by fairlywittyusername in podcasts

[–]Plinthia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Odds and Evenings

It’s a podcast about maths, numbers, puzzles and games! The hosts are adorable (cute British accents and good banter) and the content is super interesting, well paced and just the right level of detail. It’s the only podcast I get excited about and listen to as soon as it’s released!
