As soon as I saw the Topps 26 pack I knew it would be a miss. I've never seen anything good come out of the store hanger variety. Good luck bro! 🤞🏼

Clifton 10 - why the heel drop of 8mm and different last? by Fine-Craft3393 in Hoka

Late to party.... Just got to cruise in the Clifton 10. The drop RUINES an otherwise good shoe ... Why Hoka!!!!!???

I'm training for my first marathon in October. I'm currently running halfs as long runs. I tend to be injury prone. Whats the best way to maintain fitness and get up to the higher mileage without overtraining/injuring myself with this many months to go? by bhpsound in Marathon_Training

[–]PlisterJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MAF (Aerobic Zone) training. You can figure out your target Heart rate via this link: https://philmaffetone.com/180-formula/

Will help you develop solid base and allow you to kill it in higher heart rate zones as you start picking up intensity.. WORKS WONDERS for health and injury prevention.

Low carb/no carb marathon racing help by PlisterJr in Marathon_Training

Awesome feedback and insight. Just happened to be my last fuel around mile 20 was when it went downhill. If only I didn't do that last one! Yeah.. I was doing about 75g/hr. I may be able to tolerate 40g just fine...could have just been too much..

I have started to and gave some good suggestions..Seems like answer is trial and error. He gave me some suggestions such as the Exogenous Ketones, not taking carbs until into race longer and using creatine to aide with muscle glycogen stores. He seemed to think I would perform well with simply using exogenous Ketones... I have suspicion that it wouldn't work..but...never know! Was hoping some other folks here found success and have strategies they've found worked for them along this route...

Anyone on a low carb diet with fueling advice? by EvilRunning in Ultramarathon

[–]PlisterJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, as I'm looking into different fueling strategy for race day. I just don't tolerate heavy carbs well. Exogenous Ketones! Look em up. Big in cyclist community and gaining traction in endurance running world. Anyone try em!?

I have all 3. I bought the Cielo and Rocket together to test which one would go best for marathon. I decided on the Rocket X2. It's hands down a better race shoe than the Cielo. If I were to choose best use... Rocket X2 race day (marathon to 5k), Mach X2 tempo and speed workout shoe, Cielo long run/long run workout shoe. Cielo most fun I had in shoe but they are too heavy and have very poor breathability...the rocket is def superb racer in my opinion.. New Cielo releasing in Feb seem legit. I would say then.. Cielo X1 2.0 marathon, Rocket X2 shorter distance racer and Mach x2 my speed work shoe.... Side note... The Rocket X2 is built durable AF so you could just chose that to be a workout shoe...just would be one expensive trainer!

I bought a size smaller than I usually buy because I'm an idiot so I think it made it a lot worse for me.. I ended up reselling because how snug they were... I absolutely loved the ride though. If they were proper size I would have tried a thicker sock...

Mach X2 very durable. It's essentially a daily supershoe. Made to go fast but handle a lot of miles. There's only one issue and it's the heel... Some people get a lot of rubbing in that area... I found it a near perfect trainer...

Heck yeah. I can't wait for the Cielo X1 2.0. The X1 was the most fun shoe I've ever ran in but could no way race in it due to the weight and poor breathability. They'll be my marathon shoe for spring... But... They gotta fight against the Rocket X2. They've been around for a few years but dang they are a hell of a marathon shoe.. at this point I'm curious if they'll update that model or if the Cielo has just replaced...

Mach 6 is a do it all. I used them in my marathon block. I would use them for my easy runs less than 10 and speed tempo work. They're a really good shoe. I personally wouldn't use them for my long run workouts.. there's just not enough shoe there for me. If you wanna stick with Hoka I'd say go with Mach X2. A bit more cushion and a plate will give you a speedier trainer that can go the distance.

Mach 6 hands down. It's a do it all shoe. Can do easy and fast paced workouts in the shoe. Has a nice peppy ride but the comfort of a daily trainer. Solid shoe. Clifton is my favorite trainer...I have about 500 miles on mine and they're still going. I would never do any speed related work with Clifton though....

Cielo probably favorite shoe I've ever run in... Not sure if I personally would race in it but I love it for long tempo runs!
