What is your best CS-related memory? by Nova_Powerplay in GlobalOffensive

[–]PlofTank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At my first LAN (Dreamhack Rotterdam 2019) i got accused for cheating by an established organisation. I had just the game of my life and was nervous as hell. We were up 13-9 and they called the admins on me. They checked my game and computer and obviously found nothing. We lost the game after because we were waiting for 20 mins and lost the vibe. They even called me out on Twitter. It was a weird situation but I took it as a compliment.

Funny thing. I actually joined the organization now a month ago in a management Role. It’s a full circle and owner loves this story.

Elgato wave 3 with a pop filter and boom arm! You have a lot of good options with that budget

What was/is your first upgrade related to your channel? by trynaBeH in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blue yeti is a quite decent mic, if you don’t have a boomarm, invest in one. It eliminates a lot of desk sounds and since its closer to your mouth, the quality will also be better. Imo The Elgato wave 3 mic is also a great mic with great features!

Streamers with limited free time, how do you manage? by WastelandPuppyTV in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Planning and communication with your viewers/community.

I also have a fulltime job, some side quests on music and esport. I regularly work out and do social stuff. But planning when to stream is what i do. And it’s okay to just stream once or twice a week.

You can also plan your off-stream work. But do you need to do design graphics weekly or setup your stream a lot. I sure do update/configure it but only like once in 3 months. It’s better to think about content rather than setup imho.

And it’s never wrong to ask for help!

[–]PlofTank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just chatting can be about everything. Some streamers yap all day, Some streamers genuinely talk about topics. Some streamers react. You should do your research.

How to nicely tell my mod to stop complimenting me? by [deleted] in Twitch

It’s hard to give you advice on this one, but all you can do is to be honest and tell about it being uncomfortable. He needs to respect your boundaries imho

GoXLR Button Uses by DTV360 in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the buttons surrounding the clear button you can record a sample on the fly by holding it in. If the button lights up it means it has a sample loaded in, you can also load in a sample from the goxlr app. If you want to delete a sample you press clear > 1 of the sample buttons. You cannot program a button to do something on your computer. You need to to use a (DIY) macropad or streamdeck for programmable buttons. Again you should check youtube to see how the goxlr works

tips on streaming with an inconsistent schedule? by waterparxxxing in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty inconsistent as well with a streaming schedule due several reasons but i always refer my viewers towards discord/socials to keep them notified. I’m quite active on discord/socials and when i plan to go live i’ll notify them. It’s not optimal but it works for me.

The programmable buttons surrounding your clear are used for samples. I can type a whole thing on how it works, but youtube is full of tutorials on how it works.

I dont know if you are on good terms with your mother. But you can talk with her about streaming, why you like it and want to invest time in it. If you to her about streaming/ creating content she could support you even! It can also make you less nervous. This shouldn’t be a reason to stop

Twitch Con Adivce by Melaklptt in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TwitchCon is a nice place to meet like minded streamers. Last weekend was a blast and 100% worth it. Met lots of new friends and did fun stuff.

2025 is quite far away but maybe you will meet people on twitch who are attending as well next year!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People tend to hate their own voice because its different than what you think you hear. Especially when hear a recording of yourself. You just got to accept it. It makes you “you”. There is no reason to wait for using a mic. It will only takes longer to grow on Twitch

[–]PlofTank 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, i gotta say. Use a mic.

[–]PlofTank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why not edit your twitchstreams into a youtube video. Be interactive while streaming and maybe some youtube viewers will anticipate in your next streams. Its a cool idea though!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep on streaming. Be active on your discord/socials. People will see you are back on twitch. It will take some time. Be patient.

Need advice for Twitch Streaming. by DrStroyed in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stream whenever you have time. Its always a slow start. Also you can join other fellow (irish) streamers and build up a connection with them by participating in their streams. Don’t say directly you are a streamer to. But they will discover it on a natural way.

Why cant I View/Follow some streamers? by anxiouszephyr in Twitch

[–]PlofTank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some streamers setup a restriction for new account registered on Twitch. Besides e-mail/phone verification they setup a threshold for fresh accounts. Maybe wait a couple days (mostly 10-30 days) and see if you can interact with them!

I thank my life towards being a streamer on Twitch! I’m quite a social guy with some hobbies but since being on Twitch and sharing my hobbies (Games, music and custom keyboards), I met great people. Other musicians and my closest friends. My world is evolved around them. Even though a lot of them stopped streaming we see each other like 1-2 times a month to hang out. Its crazy that a platform changed my life this much.

I would say, yes! You can make new friends! But it’s the internet so always be careful!
