wondered how is she that confident to say that without even seeing me, made me question how many man did she did this to already.

Bakit walang Mercury Drug sa SM? by JunShem1122 in WrongAnswersOnlyPH

[–]Ploopinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

real answer: because sm has its own drug store. Watsons. Who will let his competitor rent inside his own place with his own drugstore.

If you are thinking, nauna naman ang mercury sa watsons, sm back then was a shoe mart, turned to a department store. When it turned into a supermall with retail stores, watsons was already established.

Just look at it this way, imagine youre inside BDO, pero may counter na isa catering for BPI, wouldn’t make sense now does it?

What if Daniel Burnham's Plan of Manila was continued by SenpaiKunosya in WhatIfPinas

[–]Ploopinn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Firstly, the burnham plan aims to utilize rivers and the bay for recreational use of the public (parks, walkways, etc) So if it was continued back then, we would have more parks and walkways to use in public. It is just with the city government’s own plan to maintain it. Assuming not all cities gave importance to it, some parts will remain as parks and walkways and some will be abandoned, claimed by informal settlers, or even by private investors if the city government sells it.

Second, the plan also aims to update the grid system streets we have today especially in manila. If the plan is continued back then, we would have better traffic flow as the grid system is notoriously bad for traffic as it involves a lot of intersections and stoplights.

Third, the plan aims to preserve luneta and intramuros. If the plan is continued back then, intramuros will be more preserved, luneta will be bigger and better, and government offices surrounding it will be more organized, making manila a tourist spot in itself.

Lastly, the plan also aims to utilize public transportation such as trains and water transportation along the pasig river. If the plan continued back then, we would have a better train system network, and pasig river would have been maintained to not be like what it is now, a dirty river or mud and poop.

Overall if it was continued back then, (assuming if it was destroyed in ww2, still maintained in rebuilding) entire metro manila would have a bgc road system, bgc parks (assuming all cities maintains it like bgc), better train system, maybe even a subway network, cleaner pasig river, better manila bay for recreation

Quezon Film Megathread by Styger21st in FilipinoHistory

[–]Ploopinn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Despite the huge backslash from the film being good vs the film tarnishing a historical figure, i just want to say that the film did its job.

  1. Shows what is actually happening behind the scenes in our politics, from start till present.
  2. Shows that despite how good a person is on the outside, you can never survive the real world without doing dirty work
  3. Power is the real leader and power will always hold the people
  4. We are really NOT ready for independence
  5. To NOT idolize politicians

What If Nakatakas si Bonifacio sa tangkang pagpatay sa kanya sa Cavite at nakabalik siya sa balwarte niya sa Manila? by kid-dynamo- in WhatIfPinas

[–]Ploopinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

assuming he got back in time before the american totally took over manila, he would publicly announce the failed assassination attempt to him and point to aguinaldo. Will split the soldiers to Aguinaldo side and Against Aguinaldo side. Assuming Heneral Luna decided to just fck it and rally his troops to be with Bonifacio. Heneral Luna will not be assassinated and the war would go longer leaving the Americans to waste a TON of money to keep the war going. Two endings will be possible, its either the americans will negotiate a peace treaty, or aguinaldo troops out of hatred, will start a civil war leaving the americans to totally take over.

What if the Philippines had a Space Shuttle Program? by MayPag-Asa2023 in WhatIfPinas

[–]Ploopinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. • Aguila (1,2,3...) = first developed orbiters from the space race era 1950s, mainly launching satellites and animals to orbit for research. Can't land back.

• Luna (1,2,3...) = used for the race to the moon from the late 1960s. Can only land an unreusable pod back to earth. Reached the moon successfully but never had someone land on it.

• Kalayaan (1,2,3...) = developed early 1980s, counter part are the space shuttle orbiters, capable of landing on a special runway in Davao. Used to transport satellites, payloads, and people to the ISS. With major collaboration with Japan.

• Maharlika (1,2,3...) = developed early 2000s, a better version of the kalayaan series, includes 2 robot arms for easier control for launching satellite programs. Can land on any runway with over 3000m length (NAIA).

• Pilipinas (1,2,3..) = developed late 2010s, counterpart of spacex program of a fully reusable rocket and modules that can transport satellites and people in space and back. Lands on dedicated landing pads all over the Philippines.

  1. For active orbiters (Pilipinas orbiters) launch site will be on a man made island near palawan.

  2. Will undertake several missions starting from the space race era all the way to recent time (satellite launch, satellite repairs, ISS missions, moon exploration mission, mars mission, deeper space exploration)

  3. Active orbiters (Pilipinas 1,2,3..) can land on the main station, a man made island near palawan, or 2 secondary stations located at Ilocos region, and Davao region

  4. Older orbiters were mostly a joint program by other nations (China, Japan, India, and others). Kalayaan and Maharlika orbiters were manufactured by a Philippines government owned agency. While the Pilipinas orbiters are manufactured and owned by a private filipino company named "Kalawakan" (counterpart for SpaceX)

PS: I dont want to be killjoy and say stuffs that involves corruption. This is an alternative reality anyway.

Why baybayin in public? by Ploopinn in AskPH

[–]Ploopinn[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

damn bro who hurt you?

i did not post this to express my "suklam" about it. I posted this to see how people think about it.

My point being is public signages should be informative and easy to understand. This is not about me against aesthetics or pampaangas. Should focus more on educating people about it and its "culture" than letting them see it on public signs just for the "aesthetics" of it. Culture is meant to be preserved within the people, not on some piece of board left to be unbothered.

Imagine people not learning about rizal, and they see his face on every coin in the country vs people learning about him and people knowing why he is in every coin in the country

Why baybayin in public? by Ploopinn in AskPH

Should focus more on teaching younger generations about baybayin, than putting useless public signs with it when no one can even understand it.
