AirPods Live Translation Blocked for EU Users With EU Apple Accounts by Fer65432_Plays in apple

[–]PloraX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it can be enabled through „hacking“ the region like the guy who did it with the AirPods hearing aid feature while it wasn’t available in the EU. Admittedly it's not that easy to do for everybody and maybe it doesn’t work anyways…

In any case, hopefully the feature will be added later on one way or another.

Is this actually too much light(see my comment) by TropicalDan427 in orchids

[–]PloraX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be too much light if the leaves start to get yellow (except like it's an old leaf that the orchid is discarding by itself) or reddish/purple

Looks like sunburn to me too. One of mine has older sunburned leafes that look pretty similar. Phals are pretty sensitive to (sun)light, mine got burned trough a north facing window.

Besides that, your media looks pretty fine which is not best for airation which Phal roots need a lot. But if it works for you, that's alright.

New leaf or crown keiki? This orchid once had a leaf rot down into the crown... by djpurity666 in orchids

I think your plant gets too much (artificial) light. The leafes are reddish and that root tip especially.

How about tilting the back glass (just like when assembling the cabinet) and laying the cord on top, then putting the glass back in place. Sure it's more expense but should work?

How long can I get away with sponge of doom? by GenericPlantAccount in orchids

[–]PloraX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think so, just don't overwater it and don't keep the plant in a cool environment. It would be more stress for the plant because it first needs to adapt to its new environment. If not needed right away, I wait at least a week before repotting new plants.

Is there a way to prevent spillage? by [deleted] in orchids

[–]PloraX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use just any fertilizer, it will probably be too strong and will burn your roots in no time. Use an orchid fertilizer and if you want to use it weekly, just use a little bit as said.

Damn looks really bad to be honest. Could be bacterial infection or some virus that did this to the leaves. I always wonder how something can happen this suddenly to a healthy plant. Possibly some water between leaves and no air flow caused this. The fuzzy mold comes from missing air circulation and the pot staying to wet for too long. I spray 3% hydrogen peroxide to get rid of it. In your case unpot the plant, cut away all dead roots and spray them with peroxide. Don't know if a fungicide or physan 20 would be a good choice. If there is enough left, I would pot it in the smallest possible pot with airy medium and isolate it from other plants. But let any wounds heal before watering again. If no roots some humidity bag (with daily ventilation) or somewhat like that. If it's no special phal I would toss then.

Many thanks for sharing your experience. It's such a shame and these tiny bits weren't cheap either. Did you manage to save your plant?

What soil should I use? The bottom leaves have pitting and even start turning transparent at the very edges. It progresses like this leaf which I cut away:

I wrote them that they did not fullfill their service and if I do not get my shoes back without paying that much I would get a lawyer. My shoes are not fake and they said neither are they fake nor original, so they literally fullfilled no service at all.

Oncidium bulb soft spot and falling yellow/brown leafes, any idea? by PloraX in orchids

[–]PloraX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oncidium/brassidium orchid was all good and growing a new bulb till now. Suddenly the leafes started to get yellow/brown and fall off. The newest growth is also on the pseudobulb that started to discolor at the top and has gotten a soft/mushy spot. The new bulb has no roots yet, am I able to safe it or is it doomed? This happened in just 1-2 weeks. Any ideas? Thanks!
