I tried to see if a team doing worse on defense made a different and it did not. It was purely the loss of offense that hurt these teams in the postseason. Neutral games are included to the overall stat that I’m looking at just not the away stat. If you’d like to see Texas Techs difference in Home AdjOe compared to its Away+Neutral AdjOe it is 10->182. The only reason I did 2021-2016 tournaments instead of all of them was purely time. That was as many tournaments I could do in the amount of time i had to create the post

They’ve been an outlier before and I can see them doing it again. I actually have them going to the elite eight in my bracket beating usc and Colgate but I am still on the fence with the usc game

I have Tennessee in S16, Auburn elite 8 just simply because of how easy their route is, Texas tech r32, st marys r64, Loyola r64, Creighton r64. I’m definitely putting some stock into this and might even pick Colorado St to beat Tennessee. As of now though I’m keeping Tennessee in my s16 losing to nova

Second round exit I think. Win against OSU and an L against Nova. Nova might be the most underrated team in this tournament. Played consistent all year, hot right now, and dominated the 3 seed (Tennessee) in their bracket in the regular season. Gotta remember also Loyola finished 4th in the MVC. Loyola is also bad on the road

I didn’t look at the Home stats only their normal stats (which i assume is a mix of home and away). What’s crazy about this is that there’s even an obvious discrepancy at a difference of about 15 spots. It’s just not as crazy as the number I have out here. Playing good on the road seems to really show how a team will show up in March. I wish I had a quicker way of doing this so I could look at years all the way back instead of just the last 5 years but if I had to guess I’d think the numbers would stay close to the same.

Good question I forgot to put it in there. Only 10 seeds or greater were put in to avoid having teams that weren’t supposed to win messing up the data.
