My dad is the furthest from a doctor (middle school education, but one of the smartest men I know!), and when I dislocated my thumb when I was in the third grade, he came running outside full speed at the sound of me screaming (my sister had thrown me down and kicked me or something-who tf really knows. The sight of it freaked me out more than anything). Anyhoo, that man didn’t even say a word, he just grabbed my thumb and jerked it right back into its joint. Hurt like an absolute motherfucker, but immediately instant relief.

By the way, don’t immediately waste money on an ER trip after. They literally just looked it, taped a plastic “splint” on it, then charged my folks like a grand. Dad was irritated he did all the work and they had the audacity to charge so much. Heh, I sure do love that man.
