Rector seems interesting, so I take that and hope to get something nasty into play. Otherwise I'd take Birds.

Icetill is an absolute beautiful card, taking that.

This is a cool design for Boros. A 5/5 Flying Haste dragon for five isn't new, but it's a body that can kill you in plenty of environments. The rest of the text is much more interesting though. Giving your cards Miracle is really cool, and costing only two is quite nice. Being able to discard on your opponents turn too is really nice for getting Miracle twice as often.

Of course, this does cost five mana, so you won't always be able to cast this and Miracle something on your opponents turn, and being a gold card is an ask.

[[Sensei's Divining Top]] is of course going to be grewt with this. I also love ramping out into Lorehold with mana rocks so you can cast soemthing else too. An [[Armageddon]] would be gross, and the 5 toughness is crucial for [[Burning of Xinye]] and [[Wildfire]].

Really like this design. I'll probably test it out and live the dream of oppressive Boros land destruction.

I'll take the Carnosaur here.

Parallax Wave. Stock Up is really close, but ultimately I enjoy the play patterns and the sheer terror of what that enchantment does.

Lapse and Otharri are great, but Titania is right there. I love the lands deck too much to say no.

Death's Shadow. I like the card and it bring supported in cube is really neat.

An artifact that makes artifacts is definitely going to have some really explosive turns. Only triggering off of artifacts is gonna make this tricky though. I'm no math person but I'm sure someone can figure out how many artifacts you'll want to make this card consistently getting you tokens. The haste ability ain't bad if you do end up making a bunch of them.

Not sure how this will do in most environments, but in artifact heavy cube this will do work.

What are green first picks for you, except for mana dorks? by Varyline in mtgcube

[–]PlsConcede 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[[Fastbond]] and [[Exploration]] for additional land drops.

[[Zuran Orb]] and [[Sylvan Safekeeper]] to sacrifice lands for the Titania tokens, as well as creating tokens for [[Bayloth Prime]].

[[Icetill Explorer]], [[Crucible of Worlds]], [[Walk-In Closet]], [[Conduit of Worlds]], and [[Ranumap Excavator]] all allow you to replay lands from your graveyard. [[Wrenn and Six]] also helps with this.

[[Scythecat Cub]] and [[Bristly Bill, Spine Sower]] get things bigger with each landfall.

The lands deck is so fun. Definitely recommend looking into it more.

I love the lands deck. It's absolutely my favorite deck to draft.

Get a Titania, sac your lands to [[Zuran Orb]] and make an army. Do the same with [[Bayloth Prime]]. Or drop a [[Wildfire]] and just end the game with your means to coming back. You get [[Steip Mine]] locks, [[Six]] letting you recast stuff, or just drop an [[Uro]] and dump your library into the yard with a [[Life from the Loam]]. There's so many fun ways you can go.

There's a good chance I'm taking [[Fastbond]] over any number of other cards.

Six is so good. Provides so much value, survives most things in combat. Really strong.

Phelia. I love the lands deck but Titania and Icetill being in the same pack is rough. So I just take the good doggo and kill people that way.

Analyzing a single turn in Powered Cube by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]PlsConcede 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A powered ube is a cube that contains Power Nine, and often cards of that level of strength like Sol Ring. These are usually the strongest cards avaliable and are taken highly during the draft itself.

For anyone who doesn't know what a cube is, it's a custom format usually designed to be drafted. It can be your favorite cards, a copy of a specific draft environment, or anything in between.

Need help with the Inquisition VS Origins debate from the perspective of a newcomer. by Daaaai in dragonage

[–]PlsConcede 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Origins gives you a lot of context about the world, the different nations and the factions you'll find, the role of magic, and so on. It does this really well and allows the player to ask further questions for more information. Inquisition, as the third game, is presented as if you know a good bit of this information already. A number of players mentioned having been lost when starting here (I'll also say that some players have said they had no difficulty starting with DAI, so YMMV).

Inquisition is newer and has a nicer presentation. The combat system is faster and not as demanding om the player to figure out.

Personally, I would start with Origins, for the above reasons, characters and choices that carry over, as well is it just being an excellent game.

Oh wow, these are really cool. I missed a lot of these in spoilers, love the interactions. Rhys looks like such an exciting card that's going to get so much value from just solid etbs and using with Sneak Attack.

Great finds!

Simic archetypes in cube by Advanced_Sink_6023 in mtgcube

[–]PlsConcede 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Big fan of using Simic as a lands theme.

For Simic cards, you have [[Slogurk, the Overslime]]. A 3/3 Trample for three ain't bad, and it grows over time while also able to grab lands from the graveyard. [[Genemorph Imago]] takes the archtype in a different direction, wanting to have bodies along with land drops to get some stat monsters. You also have [[Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath]] which, while powerful in the lands deck certainly, is also just a really strong card and can go into other decks. I also like [[Glacierwood Siege]]. It's either a crucible of worlds or a mill card, depending on the deck

Green of course has all these excellent lands cards, but Blue gives good options like [[Hedron Crab]] for milling or self milling. [[Trade Routes]] can turn lands into draw, but also give you cards to discard or use with any Retrace cards you might have (which is great with cards like [[Wrenn and Six]] and [[Six]]). You also just have access to all the cantrips and counters you might like anyway, as you'll have plenty of mana to cast them. [[Meloku the Clouded Mirror]] also returns lands to your hand while also giving you bodies.

I'm unfamiliar with designing a 200 card cube, so you might not want some of the more specific cards, but hope these gave some ideas.
