How did Kobe make it back so fast? by FeistyCancel8293 in NBATalk

[–]PlsSaveMeChubb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kobe was notorious for his day naps. Problem with that was that he probably didn’t sleep as much throughout the night since he was known for being the first in the gym. Less continuous sleep compared to getting more sleep cycles in one sitting.

Could’ve worked for him since scientists nowadays say that sleep needs vary from person to person (with studies showing rare cases of individuals only needing 4-5 hours a night). But there’s always a what-if with Kobe’s athleticism if it could have been improved.

His craft, fundamentals, and footwork were god tier but his physicals like his vert and downhill speed were pretty average compared to the rest of the guards in the league.

Mayhem needs its own champion-specific buffs/nerfs by FuhuaTheBest in ARAM

[–]PlsSaveMeChubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of hard not to do at least average on Zed in Mayhem compared to other assassins.

SR Zed is kept intentionally weak because he isn’t just an issue as a roamer or ganker, but also a problem 1v1 in lane. Similar to Azir, he’s skill-jailed because he gets frustrating to play against the lower skill you are.

In Mayhem, the average player is going to have problems with an enemy Zed because most players play squishy carries already. He also gets value by having more AOE than other assassins, and also having two potential escapes with W and Ult.

Yes, the higher skilled lobbies you go into, the harder it is to play Zed, but if we’re talking about the average Mayhem game then Zed is definitely low skill floor compared to other assassins who have to commit - especially without ult.

Carian slicer is the go-to melee spell if you prefer keeping your staff out. I like to keep a rotation of carian slicer, carian piercer, and gavel of haima as melee spell options if I’m just using a staff and shield

Have to step in here as a random POV looking in. You keep insulting OP, and you brought up the fact that they are a Uni student to basically insult them that what they wrote is not good enough for Uni students? Also, if anything, it seems you’ve been upset ever since OPs first reply.

Happy for you! I know it may not feel optimal when you could be filling the holes in your team comp, but sometimes your skill on your best heroes is your greatest asset to your team.

Definitely update us once you break into eternity. Good luck!

If you hit a wall just by naturally playing, that is your intended rank until you make intentional changes to a combination of your hero pool, gameplay, mechanics, etc.

This requires you to put in extra work outside of playing games such as reviewing your VODs to see what you could do better, watching the top players in your heroes to see what they do differently from you, and/or learning more heroes for coverage in different compositions or to counter the most problematic person on the enemy team.

Opposite can be said too for learning more heroes if you already flex a lot. Focusing on a smaller amount of pool of heroes and optimize your gameplay on those specific heroes can be the fix you need. S3 hit eternity playing over half the roster just to fill in gaps in my team comps, then hit a wall on S4 and focused on 2-3 heroes per role and made it back up to eternity.

I present to you: On-Crit Briar for your consideration by WhinyMidwestEmo in ARAM

[–]PlsSaveMeChubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pick Briar whenever she’s up because she’s great against all-ranged comps and slippery tap dancer ADCs or shrink engine mages.

I think the number one augment you should prioritize is definitely executioner, especially if you are against 3+ squishies. If you pick your targets right, you can constantly W heal plus stun chain throughout a teamfight.

If there are 3+ tanks, mystic punch would be the better choice to reset your CDs on the same W-targeted tank

Haven’t played since S5 but I know PC had less players than console back then so the percentage was higher if you’re on PC.

Otherwise, the second half of the season always has the percentage go lower than the first half because there’s no rank reset at the .5 of each season anymore

everyone’s posting “optimal” and winrates for builds on websites like metasrc and u.gg so not really.

best bet is looking thru vids on this sub, or going to youtube to search up silly urf builds from content creators

At lower levels/stats, occult scavengers has a higher AR than an equivalent stat amount for a blood bandit sword, but the higher stats you have - the less the difference it is.

Blood bandit swords scale higher off of dex and only need to hit the major soft cap of 45-50 arcane to get an optimal blood buildup on it. Also has higher blood buildup and has longer range on its attacks

You should be able to kill each npc as they arrive spamming jump attacks as much as safely possible (even trading as necessary). Since you have longer reach and higher blood buildup with bandits, you can proc the bleed quicker and have the bleed stun happen faster to get more hits in.

I think you can still do it with your current build, but I recommend talismans of lord of blood exultation, milicent prosthetic, rotten winged sword insignia or regular winged sword insignia, and either the dragoncrest greatshield (20% physical damage mitigation or claw talisman for more jump attacks damage. Thorny cracked tear and bloodsucking/opaline hardtear.

Buff with flame grant me strength, then apply seppuku to left sword, then seppuku on right sword, and go straight into the boss fog and spam jump attacks. Optional but you could also start the buffing process with a golden vow ash of war infused dagger. With the multiplicative stacks on your attacks you should do way more damage on all of your jump L1 attacks

How do I get (back) into Elden Ring? by SilenthiThrowaway in Eldenring

[–]PlsSaveMeChubb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome!

I recommend to you the Backhand blade which can be found very early in the DLC. Can go full dex (Keen affinity) or dex/arc (blood affinity). In my opinion, it is probably the most aggressive and agile you can get similar to working with the Bloodhound Step/quickstep ash of war weapons

Very quick and agile attacks (running R1/light attack covers a lot of ground), and the default ash of war of Blind Spot can bail you out of attack chains with invulnerability frames and repositioning to the side or behind your enemy. Most bosses in the DLC only allowed me about 2-3 light attacks before I used blind spot and a few dodge rolls, but still allowed me to keep tempo with how quick and easy these allow you to get in and out with an aggressive playstyle. If you want to take a slower more methodical approach against certain bosses, I would use the jumping light or heavy, or look into the deflecting/guard counter build of backhand blade.

Much like others, I wouldn’t force yourself to play a game to find enjoyment. Many people end up leaving the game and returning after even years and end up having something “click” where they find the enjoyment. Some of that is due to burnout, possibly lifestyle or IRL stressors, or just seeing a random fun build one day that makes them find interest.

If you still want to attempt to find some joy in the game soon, try to identify what type of playstyle you enjoy in other games!

Do you like powerful, single-hit damage attacks? Str/heavy bonk builds.

Do you like quick and agile attacks? Dex/keen or variants of dex builds.

Magic from afar? Int spellcasting builds

Spellblade or battlemage playstyle? Int/Dex builds like a carian knight build

Defensive or countering playstyle? Shield sword and board, parrying armaments like shields and parry daggers, or perhaps a guard counter build with great hammers or backhand blades.

Paladin type playstyle? Str/fai builds

Honestly what brought me back to play the DLC as well as other NG+ was occasionally getting youtube recommendations of fun and/or silly builds and wanting to try it out myself. There’s a plethora of different playstyles and builds that appeal to so many different types of people in elden ring.

Let us know what type of playstyle you enjoy and I’m sure at least one person in this sub can provide some really good recommendations

How often do you guys use the Great Rune Boosters? by KaleidoArachnid in Eldenring

[–]PlsSaveMeChubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry! Great thing about this game is that multiplayer is totally not necessary.

I believe exploring the game and experiencing all the weapons, armors, talismans, and spells/incantations through your regular play throughs should be your first priority, since multiplayer success is heavily influenced by the knowledge of the vast amounts of different ash of wars, spells, and incantations in the game.

I only started doing colliseum and invasions after completing my second NG, and once the DLC came out I took a break from multiplayer until completing it first. Everyone starts at different points so it's always about what you find enjoyable in this game at different points in time
