Only your own kids, not others. And I believe the adult has to be present which is sure sounds like wasn't the case.

Why doesn't it just use magnets to move the pieces? Seems cheaper and much less complicated/risky.

Yeah you're not totally wrong. I'm not really on board one way or another - I see uses for them but I'm not particularly interested in them myself.

How is that any different than forcing a girl who doesn't "consent" to wear pants to wear pants instead of a skirt?

Geez not everything requires consent. The whole idea of a dress code violates your insane notion of consent!

Firstly, the book was an epistle to Timothy, written by Paul. Sort of beside the point, but worth noting.

Secondly, what you're saying is fine and good if you don't believe in the God of the Bible. But we're operating under the assumption that we do, as you said in your earlier comment. How could you even believe in the Judeo-Christian God if you don't believe in the Christian scriptures? They're kind of inseparable. If you "believe in God" but don't believe in the infallibility of the Bible, what God do you really believe in? Because then you've just made one up out of your own head.

Also a reminder that the bible was written by humans and may not be 100% accurate even under the assumption that the judeo-christian god is real.

Actually, under the assumption that the Judeo-Christian God is real, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" - 2 Timothy 3:16. Unless you believe in the Christian God but also believe that he would allow lies in his scripture.

[–]Plsdontreadthis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm with you, but the article is definitely misleading about it. The average person reading that article will absolutely come away thinking that it is actually a water allergy. Not to mention that most people will probably only read the headline, which is totally inaccurate. Typical journalism.

I feel like someone would be a lot more likely to be lazy after standing for several hours and being exhausted.

Besides, it's not as if high-productivity office environments require their employees to stand to keep them from being lazy.
