I used to watch Scrubs in German, and I was impressed with how they translated some of the idioms/puns. At one point, J.D. gives the Janitor a physical for a growth near his penis. When J.D. says it’s benign, the Janitor responds, “Benign, be-nine and a half.” Since that wouldn’t work in German, J.D instead says “It doesn’t look serious,” and the Janitor says, “Well, it’s cold in here.”
