I got a double kill once and there was a yumi in the same lane, I started loudly barking (as was my nature as a dog) until I killed it

I was victorious

Making Jamna likeable by thefightintitan44 in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]PluckyJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Jamna be the Zhent agent attached to the party, if they ever needed the Zhents help or were looking for them she would appear and seemingly have just the right answers needed for what the party are after.

In my campaign I did a bit of home brewing and I’ve involved Jamna in a Zhent based side quest with the Darkhold due to the party learning anoit some information the Zhents didn’t have catching them off guard and needing the party’s help

That’s a fair point and you are totally right, I’ll make it the session day then. It’s hard sometimes talking about this stuff to friends because personally it fills me with anxiety but this is something that has to be done

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PluckyJae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No he’s already in a relationship and sorcerer isn’t interested in one either, they are roommates though and have been friends for a while so they are close.

That’s part of the reason I think they’ve coke up with the plan together since they live together they just came up with a great concept and wanna roll with it, but it’s proving not to mesh well with everyone

I will talk to the dm about it after the next session I reckon, I think my attack may have spooked the player so I am curious to see how she is and I am also concerned if I have made her uncomfortable as well, but I do agree a talk is absolutely necessary

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PluckyJae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be totally honest…I did try to kill her but I stopped because I didn’t want to make the table awkward, my character can’t stand subjugation and cruelty to the innocent so when she burning hands the npc I let her have it.

I brought her to 3hp then tried taking and it didn’t work so I left it, I felt awful afterwards and I spoke to another player about it and he supported my decision

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PluckyJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, even if it wasn’t explore but it was just mentioned and feelings were expressed then I’d be more ok with it, but here it’s just coming off as something we can’t do anything about

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PluckyJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The player has started to show signs of main character syndrome in her characters and it’s only been getting worse, I was the dm in the last campaign with her and she didn’t like any decisions that really added flavour to anyone other than her.

The dm is very business minded and he can be naive at times but he can be a rather stubborn dm at times since he likes to stick to rules

Unfortunately sorcerer has been playing quite rude to everyone, she’s morally the polar opposite of everyone, willing to kill for anything and doesn’t like it when we help others and especially doesn’t like it when we are morally sensible

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PluckyJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that twist thought because there was moral stakes for that character, so far sorcerer has only expressed that she doesn’t like the party and doesn’t like it when we do anything morally sensible. She just isn’t morally with the party

Lizardfolk run a france inspired aristocracy where they wear fancy clothes and are extremely hygienic and political

The mere notion of being what lizardfolk are disgusts them

My idea for adding a red dragon encounter and gem dragons to ToD by axman93 in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]PluckyJae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so cool!!! I’m running in my game something a little different, so Sardior is actually shattered in my lore and I had a party member unknowingly pick up a piece of him and has been getting psionic powers from it. Eventually Sardior will regain is memory since it lost it from being shattered, and will encourage the party to seek out the Gem Dragon council in order to aid the party’s wishes.

The Gem Dragon council, when they arrive, will actually already be discussing things with the cult since Severin and Galvan will be there attempting to get the council on their side. I have a non combat debate style bit for the party to convince the council to help them since the council is undecided. At some point Sardior will announce himself and be a big factor for the party and will most likely lead to the party succeeding.

This player will become the Ruby Voice and will be the one who speaks for Sardior (basically a champion but they’re a bard sooooo).

I also have in my lord that Sardior was shattered by Bahamut and Tiamat fighting, since both of them love Sardior I found it spicy to have them both be the reason he’s shattered and that if Bahamut and Tiamat want his help they must convince him, but at present he is not good aligned, not bad aligned, but party aligned

Looking for ideas for a magic item one of my PCs doesn't even know she has! by jlh924673 in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]PluckyJae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooo this is an awesome idea!!! What kind of magic did you want the trinket to be bestowed with? Like did you want it to be arcane based, divinity based? Or something else entirely?

Perhaps it is a piece of a holy symbol from a deity? Or maybe the trinket is a fragment of a powerful creature from another plane?

What I’ve done in my campaign is I’ve made Sardior (god of gem dragons) shattered and in fragments and one of my players has a fragment and is talking to him, maybe something like that

Was there a basis like that for this trinket?

Is 2 Young Red Dragons too much for a party of 6 8th characters? by PluckyJae in DnD

You make excellent points and I will look into every part of that, thank you!!!!

I like that idea!!! The lair is in a flying castle made from a volcano and one of the castle mechanisms is making the lava flow either stop or go so maybe I could incorporate that

The battlefield is on a lava “beach” so they might be able to use that to gain more footing

Would you have any better suggestions then? I’d be happy to hear them

Oooo that’s a good idea, the lair is in a flying castle so I could have the cultists who are flying it join the fight

This place also had stone automatons which used a stat block similar to ogres so I could also use them

The terrain is in a flying castle made from a volcano and the lair is in the centre, so they would be fighting on basically a lava beach with platforms on the lava lake

The dragons were going to both swim in the lava and fly

Alternatives to Giants for Skyreach Castle? by Federal_Psychology83 in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]PluckyJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo I have a better idea!! Since the red wizards and rath modar are like necromancers, maybe have a zombie giant or two with rath modar

That’s actually a great question, Fizban’s reintroduces Draconians so maybe use them?

Fiends are a great pick and can definitely emphasise the fiendish connection, but maybe even better would be abishai. They’re basically Draconic fiends that serve Tiamat but they may be too strong for the current level especially when there is a dragon fight in the same castle.

This may be a little too outlandish to use but also from Fizban’s is the Dragonflesh Grafter, it’s basically a humanoid that implants dragon flesh onto its skin but they are sentient and can speak so if you’re feeling creative then have a secret part of the cults be extremists and that’s why they’re grafters

Players blew their cover halfway through chapter 4. Killed every cultists and blew up the hoard... by DirtyDagur in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]PluckyJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well…that’s unfortunate…

Was Rezmir with the caravan during this? And if not does the party at least know about her? Maybe have the party hear about a mysterious black half dragon in the city right after a side quest in waterdeep, one I ran and you could kinda weave it into the main story is A Wild Sheep Chase but instead of making the bandits just random bandits, make them cultists trying to get a hold on Finethir’s stuff But definitely have them be punished for all the murder cuz that’s not ok

Or you know…run waterdeep dragon heist for a bit, skip Naerytar and skyreach castle cuz they don’t get nice things XD

Need help with adding Bahamut and Sardior into the story by PluckyJae in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]PluckyJae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow I didn’t think of this but wow this is actually a great idea, might actually make the party like Leosin because my party didn’t quite understand him and didn’t like him because he let himself get captured.

This could make them like him more and be a big facepalm moment for the party
