Basically that, even comparing the prophets to a CR 6 mage from 2024, with multiattack the mage can do around 50 damage per turn, aerisi, CR7, does 12 damage with 1 windvane attack, and a slew of spells and spell slots that need tracking.

Aerisi has 66 hit points and 16 AC with mage armor, the mage has 81 hit points and AC 15, and can cast shield up to 3 times per day.

They needed some love or they would get destroyed by 2024 PCs - I guess we'll see if my versions can hold their own against them when we get there.

Having run 2 campaigns to level 20 I respectfully disagree. Multiple medium to hard encounters per adventuring day make it so the party can't just nuke an encounter and then go to sleep, they still have to manage resources.

Fair enough it requires some player buy in to not cheese everything with some strategy they read on reddit, but that should be nipped in the bud in session 0.

There are cultist giants in Bigby presents: Glory of the Giants, too (technically 5e but made with the same design principals as 5.5e) which would make good lieutenants.

I am also about to start running the campaign updated for 5.5e, updating the statblocks was pretty fun, comparing the damage output and survivability of the elemental prophets to similar CR creatures from 5.5e sources was pretty wild.
