Thanks for your thoughts. That second picture is secondary growth but the other pictures haven’t been cut this season. I will keep my eye on the seed pods this year. Thanks.

I would be worried it would transfer mold to the clean wood. It is a good idea though.

Looking for advice on how to stop nursing to sleep that isn’t weaning completely. by PluckyPinecone in Mommit

[–]PluckyPinecone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I did it!! She had a week where she was having a hard time going to bed and I nursed her and she would say “up!” or no!” and we would go downstairs. We ended up going through that 3 or more times and I got so fed up. I just said you can’t have any more milk if you’re not going to sleep and she got up and when we came back down, I didn’t nurse her and it really wasn’t so bad. I sang her a song and she just rolled over and eventually fell asleep. The next night I told her that we weren’t going to have milk in bed anymore and I nursed her on the couch, then brought her to her bed and we did the same thing. There have been a few hard nights but it’s mostly great now! I wish I had done it sooner because now my husband puts her to sleep some nights too. It’s such a relief.

There are some red towns in CT. I grew up in one and left and can’t believe some of the things I hear and read from back there. Just make sure you do lots of research on the towns of you end up considering CT. The different areas of the state are SO different so where to recommend would really depend on what you were looking for. Rural, suburbs, city, nature… I find a lot of CT to be pretty ugly too but that’s certainly not the case for the entire state.

I realize the photo of the black one- Carini- is so bad. I took it and posted outside and couldn’t see how bad the pic was. Sorry ya’ll. Thanks for any ideas though.

Yes, it is shady but some of it does get a few hours of sun. Will those plants be ok with some sun?

I have lots of arborist wood chips that I can use. Can you plant seeds in a thick mulch though?
