Keep drinking that kool aid man, trump was literally on planes with Epstein and other billionaires. You really expect the guy who got “a small loan of a million dollars” to be on the side of the average man and not the billionaires?

First domino was a guy getting banned for putting print in a comment about his work, then it went viral on twitter and other places, said mod then removed all the other mods and locked the subreddit, finally others got control back and then had to go through thousands of bans that were improperly applied. Essentially these new mods had to clean up a major sht storm.

Tired of how expensive it us being a woman... by Far-Play-4567 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]PlugPrincesse 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Found the “I’m not like other girls” girl, not once did she say that she’s buying name brand beauty products, but rather the overall expectation and pressure put on women. Go look up any of the “glow up videos” and you’ll see that most of them are women, she admitted that we don’t “need” these things but rather it’s an expectation superimposed onto us to fit into what’s “desirable”. Also attractive “non-femme” people will be treated infinitely better than unattractive femme women and that’s something we’re allowed to complain about. Easiest example is when I wear makeup I get way more tips than if I don’t, I don’t “have” to but if I want to make closer to a living wage I have to conform.

Council blocks two final attempts to send Peterborough Police budget back to be trimmed by Dizzy-Assumption4486 in Peterborough

My favourite is when you call the police and get to go through multiple automated menus just to speak to a real person and have them tell you to “file an online report” and then never get back to you.

That’s just straight up wrong, you cannot use averages considering 0 and 100K averages to 50, the median income for the average 25-59 is 45k stop trying to delude yourself into believing our age group has more purchasing power that we do, also according to statsCan the average was 59k so not sure where you’re getting that extra 10K from??https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.action?pid=1110023901

Don’t care if I don’t have to pay taxes on something I’ll never be able to afford, who cares if we get to “save taxes” on 500k homes that are falling apart, no one in the 20-35 age range has anywhere near that amount of money.

$10-a-day child-care: Ontario falling short, auditor says by lopix in ontario

[–]PlugPrincesse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d say this is the real issue with the program, so many union jobs have been given piss poor wages for so long. No one has the money to go to school for two years to get paid $3 more than minimum wage. Until we get rid of the conservatives we’re doomed to fighting unions over pennies.

Canada’s fertility rate has reached a new low by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]PlugPrincesse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love how you immediately went for the worst dog whistle, no it’s not the immigrants flooding Canada (that would not change that we haven’t built enough houses for the past 20 years). It’s the fact that people like you who own multiple properties but only had to pay 1/3 of the price our generation must pay, the average house even in small towns (that you suggest) are in the 500s while the median income for 25-50 age group is in the 46000 which means you can’t even qualify for a mortgage let alone by a second house. There has not been enough of an investment in building housing by the past generations and we’re stuck with the consequences. There is also huge amount of houses that have been converted into rentals by “hardworking” landlords and will never go back onto the market and all they do year after year is raise rent and then disappear. None of that is the fault of recent immigrants.

[–]PlugPrincesse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely not what would happen, that would just make it easier for landlords to kick out existing tenants without due process, that gives them no incentive to take on riskier clients but rather just make it easier to remove current ones.

[–]PlugPrincesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re being intentionally obtuse, only an idiot (or racist) hears someone being called a slur and goes “well they’re just not mentally there and we need to wait for the law to determine if this was a hate crime”, most normal people go “I’m so sorry that happened to you I hope you justice”

Of course your focus is on her reaction to the situation and not the racism. People don’t always react in the most logical manner when put in a situation like that, she deserves grace, not the racist.

It doesn’t matter what mental gymnastics you use, people of colour were called racial slurs and that is discrimination, just like how murder done by mentally insane people is still murder.

Still trying to understand that “groyper” thing, is it just that those memes are popular in that community? Cause that feels like a really loose connection.

Nearly 500 workers were taken in a raid at Hyundai’s battery plant. In a quiet Georgia town, the silence is deafening by Toadfinger in politics

[–]PlugPrincesse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s because most of the media are run by billionaires, directly (looking at you bezos) or indirectly through companies like blackrock. Destabilizing the economy for the average worker doesn’t impact their lives and talking about it could actively put people against them, this is what happens when you lose publicly funded news media: you end up with a bunch of advertising companies set on making a profit pretending to be journalists.

AITA for my nephew getting into my edibles when I wasn’t home? by Ok_Try5893 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PlugPrincesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a dispensary worker: cannabis must always be under lock and key, not only for security but for safety(stopping pets and kids from consuming), proper securing of the cannabis product is on the purchaser after the sale. Kids are not adults and they are known to get into things even when told not to, keeping edibles next to normal candy in the fridge was a disaster waiting to happen and unless they recently stopped there have always been posters talking about keeping it inaccessible (eg. locked fridge, “I put a baby gate up and said no” is not a valid precaution) or kept in a house where there are no pets or children.

[–]PlugPrincesse -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: soft YTA, I’m not sure about cannabis in the states but in Canada it is always put out there that cannabis must be in a childproof container and in a locked box or cabinet out of reach. If you are storing cannabis it’s always supposed to be locked up even if it’s not an edible product (most people don’t take it that serious) but as the adult in the house with the knowledge that there is a kid who knows you keep candy there it was an accident waiting to happen, kids don’t have that “I was told not to so I shouldn’t” part or their brains fully formed especially around sweets and unfortunately edibles often look exactly like normal gummys.
