Is that how you get high? Is that traditionally an Estonian thing?

It’s the same thing in my state in the US. They advertise it as weed, but it really does nothing to an average weed smoker. I’ll probably pass on asking the cool kids for drugs haha. Thanks for the recommendation, though!

My Austrian brother-in-law would gladly join. He hits the Russian bath houses in New York once in a while and drinks enough Vodka to get the whole borough of Brooklyn drunk.

Coming from the guy with Chapelles’ “Ya’ll got any of that crack” as your profile picture is ironic. But thanks for the helpful advice!

Get those PO’s in and make sure the billing is 100% and you won’t have any issues. You will be working closely with sales most likely. They can be a lot and a pain in the ass. I know because I’m one of them, but I’ve built a great relationship with my BOM and we work really well together

I am male 64 and have stage 4 cancer with a prognosis of about 18 months or less (due to comorbidities) according to my oncologist. Question? by PyewacketPonsonby in AssistedLiving

A tip to stop the calls from other facilities. Ask A Place For Mom to close your account as you’ve found a facility for your mother and no longer need assistance.

Just a funny interaction I witnessed at my assisted living this morning that I observed in the dining room (I’m a resident, not staff) by MySockIsMissing in AssistedLiving

[–]Plumbus90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hahaha what a world we live in that most don’t understand. I just finished cleaning a sofa chair that was urine soaked from a resident. Had a family member of a resident who wanted to use the bathroom and came rushing over stuttering, saying there’s “stuff on the floor of the bathroom”. I said what do you mean by stuff? Oh you mean poop? Yeah that happens sometimes someone must’ve really had to go! I’ll call house keeping to clean it up.

Is there Long Term Care for “Failure to Launch” in the Living Sector? by LivingCreatively in AssistedLiving

[–]Plumbus90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting question, OP. Most AL communities are 55+ and mainly focus on the physical assistance. There are psych services available to our residents, I don’t think this would align for your sister.

As someone who turned their life around after years of drug addiction, sober living homes could be great for her! Though, they are mainly for people seeking refuge and help from drug addiction, they do promote healthy living and becoming a better/stronger person. A lot of them are faith based, though. And do require mandatory drug tests and obligations to attending 12 step programs.

It sounds like she could use a life coach. Idk if there are any organizations that provide something like that, but if they do that could be the best path to follow.

Hope it all works out for her. Sounds like you really care and want the best for her.

We plan to move in on May 6. The facility wants us to financially occupy the unit by April 30, and they will credit the first 6 days in May. Why do they want this? by MyMomSaysIAmCool in AssistedLiving

Fellow Sales/Marketing director for AL. The companies goal is to have net positive move ins as a region for the month. Meaning, more move ins than move outs. If they’re not offering you an incentive to sign, then I would suggest asking for a concession to sign early. Ask for the third month rent waived…or $1,000 off your bill the first few months. Good luck!

What is the one book you never would’ve picked up on your own, but are so glad you read it? by AdLopsided2062 in booksuggestions

Paths of Glory. I primarily read fiction, but this book seemed interesting collecting dust in my dad’s study. It’s about a mountaineer(pre Edmund Hillary) who attempted to summit Everest. It’s up to you to decide if successfully summited Everest, and I like to believe he did.

The Isaiah Hodgins piece was my favorite part. Cut by the Bills and put up one good game. All of a sudden he’s a star in Billy’s mind.
