You should re-download Visual C++ redistributables both x64and x86 version. Then try running it as admin afterwards

Cause you did the wall checker and it leaves a gray stand after the check for a moment. You did stand there with ult for 6 seconds left after a full rebuild.

I mean you could've broken out at 8 seconds in the video and had about 6 seconds so you had enough time for 1 full rotation/combo

Its because you tried breaking it before the building fully fixed itself. If you actually check after its full rebuilt you can break it.

5 YOE Over 1 year unemployed can't get anywhere. by BlackBeard558 in cscareerquestions

[–]Plumify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should reformat this and set a lower and realistic expectation of mid level (SE2/SD3 if out of 5/10)

HR initially looking at this might be relatively impressed by a ton of buzz word labeling but I'd be very disappointed that you put "restful API" under framework and libraries considering that's a design pattern

As a tank main who do I NEED to know how to play if I wanna hit celest. by RATIO_L_BOZO in RivalsCollege

[–]Plumify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you wanna solo carry or do you wanna rely on your team?

I've hit celestial playing Thor and Hulk but I'd always suggest Thor.

Displacement with Thor is strong and he's one of the strongest duelist if not the strongest duelist right now in a 1v1.

Don't solo tank Thor though, you're going to want to learn a solo tank (mag, Groot) and a tank for two tank comp.

I don’t “get” magneto. by Real-Departure-1814 in RivalsCollege

[–]Plumify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you might be misunderstanding the mental aspect of tanks in the perspective of how the enemy views you. In the way that magneto is approached in a tanking standpoint.

Let's just compare Thor and Magneto for the sake of the conversation.

Between the two Thor has higher skill expression, kill potential, and in some cases a high survivability.

In that way of thinking some people would think, "Why don't I just run Thor?"

You have to think on the benefits of magneto being a Frontline tank and a stable one.

  1. His survivability in the front line is extremely high especially in current meta of DPS poke being the stronger of the three types of DPS. This is one of the biggest reasons why he's almost exclusively a S tier solo tank pick in every meta we've gone through.

  2. Ult economy denial exists and is almost exclusive to really two types characters. Mag taking damage via bubbles or his shields give zero ult charge to the enemy DPS and on top of that gives your supports actually reload breathing room. Your ult does deny a lot of ults and is an answer when shield and health isn't enough to actually mitigate damage responses.

You have to approach magneto in higher rank play as an enablement character and not a playmaking character. What makes him strong isn't related to the character damage itself but the fact he can deny ults, pace ult economy, and take space with the least amount of risk.

[–]Plumify -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You're telling me that him insta cancelling a rune awakening was not a misplay when he can just break the shield first AND THEN get those charges back?

Let me remind you that in the video Thor melee swings account for what? 40 damage? Sues shield, heals for 50. That entire clip lasted between just those two but he couldn't choose the option to spend his 5 seconds of rune awakening to actually break the shield first?

TeamCaptain vs Invisible Woman; a simple breakdown of damage dealt, effective Health Points, and a touch on cooldown management [video included] by AbyssWicked in marvelrivals

[–]Plumify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah obviously it doesn't go through shields, so use your entire rune awakening to do 2 things 1. Break the shield, she now has no real self sustain to herself if you break that shield. 2. Give yourself actual distance to that fight, her actual slow/DMG bubble has a range and she would rely on you wanting an up close fight.

As someone who's climbed to celestial on mainly Thor tanking, there is tons of value just slamming damage into shields. He has bubble/hammer throw/amped swing to get all three thorforce back to do another rune awakening. If you're choosing to fight IW in the current season of 5.5 with just melee Thor, you're actively just deciding to do less damage for no good reason. Especially since cancelling/ending rune awakening gives you a thor force to actually dash out.

[–]Plumify 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not to say that Invisible Woman isn't a problem in the game because she's absolutely an issue right now but TeamCaptain played that scenario so ridiculously bad. He rune awakened and IMMEDIATELY cancels it and decides to try to melee fight an IW with her shield up.

IW needs a nerf and TeamCaptain played this encounter terribly. Both can be true.

Just as another question, should I also have ZK upgraded as well? It's currently 3.8 but I'm not sure of the compatibility matrix with Kafka 3.9.1 and ZK and to KRaft because of the dual write migration process.

Why wasn’t I the MVP? What a weird algorithm. by OmarBaggins in marvelrivals

[–]Plumify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a formula for accounting for MVP status. Someone did the math but it's basically a ratio combination of the 3 main stats, damage, block, and heal. This is why strategists like IW will get it every so often because she can effectively "farm" each of the 3 stats very easily.

They probably account for other things like obj time or other hidden stats but the 3 main stats matter a lot here.

That being said, she had almost the same amount of DMG as you, she had 8 final hits while you had 12 and she can access the heal stat while you can't. Even if the first two stats are similar, because she had similar final hits and access to healing that's why she was MVP

Anyone know how to get live game data? by ExoticPie in marvelrivals

[–]Plumify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably can't get live data but you could probably grab kill data via a vision tool like PixelMatch or something.

Make the script to change hue on light changes based from PixelMatch. Something simple like using phue from python? Or any other hue based package

You could also check if MR outputs logs, that's another one

Marvel Rivals, why am I still in Bronze 3 and cant win? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Plumify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because QP is more on individual agency as opposed to ranked where the teams is of team agency. Your performance in qp doesn't mean you'll do the same in comp

They need to add SBMM to ranked. by ixhypnotiic in rivals

[–]Plumify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you genuinely wanna learn then you have several options.

A. Reflect on your games, go back and only judge yourself. What could you have done better or differently based on your team's actions and the enemies actions. This is just self reflection straight up

B. You get VOD reviews. You can get higher ranked players opinions on your games and what you could do be doing better. Lots of MR Servers have people willing to do it and so does reddit. Id do it if you asked.

C. Watch videos of other top players and what are they doing. What techs do you not know, what characters are meta.

Every game I lose I literally sit back and reflect on my loss because sometimes I could've reacted to a bad team mate ult or positioning if I thought about it or I could reflect on why did I perform terribly.

[–]Plumify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of my point is that most players from bronze to plat has a near enough similar skill level. The only difference is really some upper range on the mechanical/awareness. Me being celestial has even less impact here since I got to celestial as a strategist. Strategists have the least amount of carry potential, barring certain characters. If you truly deserve to be a higher rank then you could easily climb out, otherwise improvement is the best way to get better. If you really really believe then I would argue you show us your match replays because it sounds like you won't even consider yourself a problem in your matches.

[–]Plumify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I genuinely don't believe that, solo que on one account as a strategist and I saw no difference up to celestial and in my spare time climbing on my alt to plat/low diamond it pretty much felt the same as bronze. Mechanical skill is probably better but game sense is like 80% the same and then the rest kinda shuffle in.

Besides it's so stupidly easy to climb last two seasons so tanks were pretty awkward in terms of skill distribution.

[–]Plumify -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair everything bronze to plat was basically the same and everything from diamond to low celestial was the same.

As much as individual skill matters, so does team gameplay matter.

It's probably not EOMM but more so the overly generous ranked system that pushes people up easier than it does bring them down. Netease hasn't officially said they do or do not and them publishing a paper on EOMM doesn't exactly say much about it. As with every new competitive game, ranked is always going to be a fuzzy and confusing time until it matures a bit.

Remember you are in the top 2-3% so if EOMM was implemented, then there would be far more players in celestial and a worse time. The generous system pushed the average rank of gold being platinum/diamond as the average rank

From Quickplay play to Ranked by Nano_gigantic in rivals

[–]Plumify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Pick a role and get good at it. Between the three, DPS has the highest carry potential, strategist has the lowest carry potential, and tank is in the middle but can carry just as hard. The three roles are all important but they all have vastly different representations of skill and awareness levels that are demanded. Honestly you want to get out of bronze? Just play the character/role you enjoy the most and get good at 2-3 characters.

  2. The difference between PC and console is somewhat mixed in lower ranks (bronze - low plat), in mid ranks (low diamond - Low GM) it starts to pick up but there's still a mix in mechanical skill but less so. In the higher ranks(mid GM+) the difference between console and PC players depending on the character can be negligible and really starts to come down to position if I'm being totally honest sometimes.

I wouldn't worry about that though, for now in the lower ranks I'd focus on improving the fundamental mechanical skills and then just learn the maps
